CFB Weekly Thread 2017 CFB Week 12 Open Thread

Yup, I’d be fine with them losing both of those games. I just don’t see it happening, so my concern would be a single loss to Clemson.

I’d love for them to prove me wrong.

I'm not all that "worried" about any of it because we can't control it but if I were, I'd worry the most about Wisconsin getting beat this Saturday.

The rest of it should basically take care of itself but OSU needs an undefeated and highly ranked Wisconsin for the opponent in the B1G CCG.

Bama and Miami are not out of anything with a loss against anyone. Clemson and Oklahoma, yes, but I wouldn’t bet anything on that.
I think we can safely write Bama off if they somehow lose to Mercer. Not sure why we're rooting for the 'Canes though. Them losing this weekend helps the Buckeyes because it most likely ensures only one ACC team gets in between them and Clemson.

Fredo of Ohio lost at home to a 3-6 EMU team with the band and parents in attendance.

I think this makes about seven or eight losing seasons in a row for Fredo, and now their "college hockey's new dynasty" hockey program has hit a big skid of mediocrity the last couple years that shows no signs of ending this year.

I agree. In fact, I think it's pretty important Miami lose again. I've been thinking about it and rooting for Clemson even if Miami goes undefeated would be best. The committee sent a definitive message they value Clemson over Miami....despite 1 loss and barely scraping by lowly FL State. Miami has a poor SOS, has not played any ranked team away and it wouldn't have the Championship. But, I really believe they'll put a 1 loss Miami AND 1 loss Clemson in. Same with undefeated Miami and 2 loss Clemson (which they'd see as a 1 1/2 loss-- eye roll).

It's going to be VERY hard to overcome the schedule Clemson has played. Maybe not Miami... but the criticism isn't nearly as 'loud' as the 31 point loss to Iowa. If Miami loses to a crap ass team, we have a much better chance.

Plus, it's incredibly difficult for me to see the committee putting us in, the team that got creamed by Clemson over the reigning NC.

EDIT:

BTW, we're the only team that never got the NC treatment thus far... FL State, Alabama, Clemson-- they've all gotten in the year after they won the Natty... and ended up losing (I'm not counting on Clemson to repeat). Stings because that 2015 team would've had the best chance against Bama.

Mercer??? Really??? Is that a county???

No wonder Bama has at least 1 win every year.

LOLOLOLOLOL

Mercer University was founded in Penfield, Georgia, as a boys' preparatory school under Adiel Sherwood, a Baptist minister who previously founded a boys' manual labor school which served as a model. The school opened as Mercer Institute with 39 students.

EDIT:

They also have a claim to fame involving Miss America. Wouldn't be surprised if she played on the football team.
