CFB Weekly Thread 2017 CFB Week 11 Open Thread

Larry Scott has so fucked the PAC :biggrin2:. There is a PAC 12 network that has agreements with basically nobody. One of the network shows tried to do a highlight reel on Khalil Tate and found out they couldn't use PAC 12 Network footage. Complete cluster fuck.

Larry Scott torpedoed the Pac 12 with a garbage TV contract on purpose just so he could relocate the Pac 12 to the east coast.

Wisconsin vs tsun next week is everything for OSU

A Wisky win locks up the B1G East for OSU and keeps a highly ranked opponent left on the schedule

goddamn it pains me to say it but let's go Badgers

TSUN has losses against two divisional teams that Ohio State beat, so I’m pretty sure the Bucks lock it up with a win next week regardless. Losing to a Big Ten West team doesn’t come in to play before the divisional losses that they’ve taken, so Ohio State should have any potential tie-breaker there.

I was looking at the official tiebreaker rules and it looks like they’ll clinch with a win next week.

I didn't look at the tie breakers, just commenting on the fact that if Wisky beats scUM that would do it fo sho.

This probably would be best for our sos. I do wonder though if scUM beats wisky would they be a ranked 2 loss team when we play (and pulverize) them. Then Wisky is a ranked 1 loss team when we play them. Which scenario makes for a better resume?

It seems like the playoff committee has gotten wise and looked at teams' final records, throwing out the old, "ranked when we played them" horseshit.

I just think the Bucks will be more amped in the B1G championship to face an undefeated Bucky, so I have no qualms saying "On Wisconsin" against Jimmy Boy's squad. I really don't want to see the Bucks in the Playoffs this year, but yeah, the cards are definitely playing out that way....

Bama
OK
Clemson/Miami
?

The best resume builder would be a win against a highly ranked and previously undefeated Wisconsin in the B1G CG

scUM has no credibility, a Wisky loss before the CCg would be bad. No way to sugar coat it.

Yes, divisional record is the first tiebreaker after conference record, then head-to-head. PSU has lost to OSU and MSU. UM has lost to PSU and MSU. MSU has lost the head-to-head with OSU to go with their loss to NW. OSU clinches the East with one more conference win, doesn't matter if it's Illinois or Michigan.

By the way, for all those against expanded playoffs on the grounds that, "regular season games just won't matter as much," get that weak ass stuff outta here.

CFB is not the NFL. OSU could conceivably clinch the East with a win over Illinois, so technically, a road trip to Michigan "doesn't matter." Does anyone honestly believe Urban F Meyer is going to punt a game against THE rival and rest his starters?

Didn't think so.

I'm book marking this page for the next time I see you guys talking abut how conference strength and a decent Michigan team is totally unnecessary...
And maybe in a year where the Bucks are undefeated, it isn't, but this year it's a BFD.

While I believe this team has the talent to play anybody in the race for the NCG, they've been so inconsistent - even yesterday in the midst of a blowout - that I'd rather see them linked up to a two or three loss ND just for the delicious possibility of leading to the firing of Body Count (thanks, ORD, it's perfect) or at least watching him turn purple on national TV.

Damn shame Akabama came back to win. Georgia and Notre Dame losing in blowouts, well, should be arousing for several fan bases!
Not sure if Bama was just fatigued from playing LSU or not but they looked very vulnerable in the run game. MSU should have at least took them to OT. Doesn't bode well for their trip to Barn considering they're a mirror image of MSU with a significantly better defense.

Fuck scUM, cinci. Fuck them up their stupid asses. We don't need a strong scUM. We just need to not lose by 31 to an average Iowa team or lose by 2 scores at home
