Game Thread 2017 B1G Championship Game: OSU vs. Wisconsin - 12/2/17 @ 8:00 ET (FOX)

WAY too many people out there making comparisons to the 2014 season. Cardale Jones was an anomaly and I'm afraid they're expecting another 59-0 blowout.

Don't get me wrong, the similarities are eerie but I'm trying to be cautious as Haskins is such a noob. Just want a win.

That being said, if we win with an injured QB and 2nd string, I can't imagine that wouldn't impress the committee in and of itself.

I think Dwayne will surpass Cardale in time, but that was a very good defense that became lethal during the trilogy. This is an occasionally terrible defense that is facing a team that lives to execute the plays that the LBs cannot diagnose or cover.

I think OSU could win handily in this game, but I do not think it will trigger a 2014 like dominance. The only silver lining is the field is charmin soft, so if they catch fire and undeservingly back into the playoffs, they have a chance.

Yeah I agree... if this game has any chance of being like 2014 the defense is the one that has to step up. I think Dwayne can surely do what Cardale did because he has the talent to do it but the defense has got to step up and take over.

One thing about that 2014 team though was that defense was not dominate at all and had issues stopping the run that year. However they turned it on the final 3 games and won us a championship along with Zeke becoming a monster. I don't care how we do it but we need to stop their running game cold because if we can we can beat this Wisconsin team by 3+scores. Put 5 DL in there if you need, put 10 in the box if you need to, and blitz like crazy if you need to but we cannot allow them to have their running game which probably means giving up anymore then 130 yards.

Lane also blessed his nemesis Urban Meyer by stopping Derrick when OSU could not.

For all of this defense's faults, they're pretty salty at coming downhill against the run. Now what happens behind a play fake or just a basic wheel route, that's unknown to these LBs

True but you can't say that for sure. 2014 struggled against a far worse Michigan team at home than 2017 did on the road. That said I'm with you in that I don't believe lightning will strike twice. I do believe we could win the game something like 38-17 though which would make me absolutely giddy.

Way I look at it, is that we are playing with house money.

Already won The Game. Season is a positive one.

Also sent Penn State & MSU back to get their fucking shine box's.

B1G CCG and playoffs are gravy.
Disagree

Losing to Oklahoma. Ok acceptable. Devastating loss to Iowa. Wins against Penn State and MSU nice but not a huge accomplishment. scum always nice but beating O'Korn is not an accomplishment.

Losing the Big Ten Championship to Wisconsin makes this a below average-average season that winning a bowl game can't really make up for. Winning the Big Ten Championship = successful season

I'll be satisfied if we win the big ten... Playoffs would be cool but if not I would consider this year a success if we win a very difficult big ten. Beating scum, PED and MSU is great but if we don't close this off then wow would that be a shame.

I think you risk everything through the air to stop the run cold. I don't get how we can't cover a tight end though especially when we play man because we know Baker is faster then any TE in the country.

Seriously any big play Wisconsin gets this Saturday because it's bound to happen I would bet we were in zone coverage.
