2016 CFB Week 12 Open Thread

So do we want USC or Colorado for the PAC12 Championship?

If Washington St wins the Apple cup, USC would be the best way to eliminate the PAC12 from the playoff.

If Washington goes on to win v Washington St, Colorado may be a better opponent. But, either could "make a case"

Wazzu is now 3 loss. USC is 3 loss. Buffs are 2 loss and Huskies are a borderline 1 loss team. A second removes them from the conversation.

I'd prefer UW has to face USC

If USC wins then PAC 12 is out. If UW beats USC then they are just 1-1 against them, still doesn't look great (depending on score I guess)

Mostly I don't think UW can beat them. No idea about Colorado.

If USC wins, the Pac 12 should be disqualified because of the egg they laid against Alabama. If Colorado wins, the Pac 12 should be disqualified because they lost to Michigan. Washington is the wild card because they don't have an OOC loss albatross.

We've all pounded the podium for ten years to just give the B1G a chance while the SEC won big in September. That script has flipped. Michigan beating Colorado, Ohio State beating Oklahoma, and Wisconsin beating LSU all loom massive now.

Right. I know. Just thinking about this game... If USC wins, they still have a chance to play in the PAC 12 game if Colorado loses to Utah next week.

If UCLA wins, Colorado would be in no question.

Just wondering if there'd be any chance they take a 2 loss Colorado over us.

Best case scenario, Wazzu or USC win the PAC 12

Right. A 1 loss WA right now is shaky. Any 2 loss PAC team doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell. I really don't think there's much to worry about in regards to the PAC--although another Husky loss wouldn't hurt.

Got it. So, this game really doesn't matter. But a USC win wouldn't hurt.

Washington played like all stars tonight..... against a terrible ASU. I had a feeling that they would come back hard after that loss but it's not that hard against them.

Wazzu didn't look terrible against Colorado. Perhaps they'll do us a solid and just eliminate the problem.

There really is no problem though.

Just win The Game and it will all take care of itself.

Assuming Ohio State wins next week, the biggest impediment to getting two B1G teams in the playoff now lies on Clemson and Bedlam.

If Clemson loses to South Carolina (slim chance) then we've got chaos.

We want Oklahoma to win Bedlam to drive the nail into the coffin with the head-to-head W in hand. OK State winning presents a problem given their lone OOC loss is disputed since it's widely acknowledged the refs botched the call in the Central Michigan game. That controversial loss will be heavily debated this week.

We want anybody other than Washington to win the Pac-12, because then the Pac-12 champ will be one with a big OOC loss on their resume. We're all Wazzu fans now for the Apple Cup.

If the favorites win out, that leaves you Bama, Ohio St, Clemson, and the B1G champ.

If it helps you sleep:lol:...yeah would rather see WA have to face SC. But (and a very big but) the PAC is just sideways. The Utes could very easily beat CO next week. The Apple Cup is on the Palouse and the pirate will have his team fired up. I haven't heard a talking head out here say with confidence a 1 loss WA gets in. A 1 loss WA could keep out PSU (not Wiscy) but certainly not the Buckeyes.
