Tech was ranked based on beating clemson and uga, nearly beating fsu, and then crushing msu to close out last season. With thomas, 4/5 oline and most of the defense returning, it made sense to project them to be good again.

Their performance to date has shown, once again, why polls this early are crapshoots regardless of what a team did last season.
