Game Thread 2015 Sugar Bowl: (1) Alabama vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 1st @ 8:30p ET, ESPN (civilized thread)

1. I find your pick of Zeke interesting, but not a stretch. He would have been my second pick. It will be interesting what others think along this line.
4. I like your pick of Bosa. Definitely an elite athlete along with Cooper & Collins. Hard to argue against.
9. Not clear on your perspective on why Bama not being no huddle has an effect on an indoor stadium? Totally get the home team factor.
10. Really need the DL, Bosa especially, to play disciplined, assignment ball.
11. :-)
With Zeke the reason why is he's the constant this year. Teams know we love to run the ball and he still goes for 1500 and that's with us throwing the ball more and more people running the ball such as Marshall. Zeke alllows our playaction to work.

As for being indoor helping bama... we rely on hand signals and communication to set up the play and because its indoors the noise level hinders that. See PSU as case in point in regards to noise we had penalties, troubles getting the play off in time, and IMO it definately hurt our production. With it being close to Bama's campus they should hold the majority crowd and I've heard the superdome is a loud environment as most domes normally are.

I wouldn't worry too much about noise. The crowd should be close to 50/50 and with only half the crowd yelling at a time it shouldn't be too loud.

Derick Henry loves turf for some reason. His best games have been on carpet.

It still benefits bama who usually operates from the huddle. Watch for this effect early because IMO it will tell how the game goes.

If we take false starts, delays, have miscommunication that's all bama needs to take a quick lead and then play downhill on us. If we come out firing and don't put ourselves in bad spots we will be in it until the end.

It's going to be loud. That noise doesn't have anywhere to go in a dome. As mentioned, Lucas Oil gets real loud. It's even louder with those old concrete stadiums and domed roofs as the sound just bounces down. The RCA Dome was notoriously loud despite being the smallest stadium in the NFL for years. The Superdome has 20,000 seats on that place.

When Bama makes a play, Ohio State players will hear it and feel it. Just means they gotta do everything to stop that from happening.

And luckily, Buckeye Nation is coming in do their part and they'll hear that, too.

Yet the loudest NFL stadiums, of which the Benz Bowl is one, are both open air.

It'll have less of an effect than at East Lansing, which is average by conference standards.
If anything, I think this team benefits from a fast track with no inclement weather.

Out of all your weapons he concerns me most. 245 pounds.
For whatever reason, he is largely ineffective in the first half, but is a destroyer of worlds who fears no man in the second. It's like he needs to DL to be at least slightly gassed. Usually if the line doesn't get him, nobody will for a while.

Yeldon is a bigger weapon. He's not terribly fast, but he is technically sound. When he cuts, his feet are always directly under his body. He is able to make multiple cuts very quickly. Totally different style than Henry, but more effective early.

I wouldn't be surprised if fowler gets a couple of early runs just to see how you guys handle a big guy.

The thing about Henry is that he's super top-heavy and goes down to arm-tackles far too easily. Get him in the secondary and he's fast enough and big enough to run straight through LBs. So you're exactly right, when the DL is tired and can't wrap up he gets his engine up to full speed and is a load to bring down. He reminds me a lot of Carlos Hyde in that regard, but like his Sophomore form where he suffered from the same top-heavy/arm-tackle problem.

Backs like Yeldon don't worry me against this D, though. He's shifty and has good acceleration, but is prone to getting tunnel vision and running to the play rather than to the open space. Our D has been solid when they sell out on the run and if TJ doesn't improvise he won't be too effective.
