This. Give Warriner a MASSIVE pay increase and keep him at all costs. I doubt we could get Whitfield out here as a QB coach but that would be incredible. Honestly, Trestman would be a great QB coach. Whoever we get, I just want him to be a great coach...really don't need a massive recruiter at the QB spot with Haskins presumably in for '16 and Clark for '17, we do not need immediate recruiting prowess there...just a great developer of talent. Plus Urban dominates the QB recruiting scene anyways. Just get a great coach.
Coaches don't recruit exclusively for their own position group. Gotta get somebody who can pull their weight.
Whoever they get is not going to simply be a QB coach. Coach Meyer has shown that he values the co-coordinator structure for continuity. The fact that people are comfortable with Warinner taking the reins is testament to this approach. In order to maintain that structure they need to hire somebody who is a capable OC in their own right, even if it is Warnnier who is the lead next season. After all, what happens if Warinner gets hired away after 2015. Would you rather the Buckeyes be in the luxurious position they're in right now, or would you rather they be completely without an OC and hiring from scratch?
