2015 NCAA Basketball Tournament Discussion

The way I see it, in two days we'll crown a men's National Championship in basketball. The next meaningful men's National Championship will be ours!!! Go Brax/JT/Cardale!! Not necessarily in that order...

Fixed it for you, bugs me that everyone calls it a national championship, including all the press. Whereas in football where that's what it is, and typically goes to the best team. Winning a tournament is winning a tournament, not a national title. Winning a tournament involves a little luck and getting hot at the right time, eg. 7 seed UConn.

Now that football has a playoff some would say the same thing about our Buckeyes championship this year. Would anyone argue that the Buckeyes weren't "hot" at the end of the season, whupping three strong teams with a third-string QB? The loss to Va Tech, the narrow escape from Crappy Valley - neither of those were the look of the "best" team at that time.

Like it or not the winner of the NCAA tournament is the national champion until the system changes, which isn't likely any time soon. I'm also quite certain no one here would downplay it if the Buckeyes won it again someday.

Well, the obvious trolls wouldn't

Like the guy who said Ohio State would lose to Alabama if they played again while there was literally confetti falling in the background (celebrating Ohio State's win over Oregon). That troll is not having his contract renewed by FOX.

One thing I've chuckled at during this tournament is an in-game comment by Dan Dakich 2-3 years ago about Ted Valentine. It was right after the Mick Cronin thing.

He said TV Teddy never even gets any postseason assignments because he's not a good referee and it's obvious.

I laugh because I haven't seen Valentine do one tournament game (last I saw him, he was doing the Sun Belt Championship).
