Game Thread 2015 National Championship Game: (2) Oregon vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 12th @ 8:30p ET, ESPN

Ranking Bama above TCU is silly.

Flip Sparty the Frogs.
Why? Who has TCU beaten? I could a give shit they have only one loss...Sparty lost to the #1 and #2 teams in the country, while TCU lost to the team (Baylor) Sparty beat in the bowl game. Plus, I think Alabama would beat TCU and is a more balanced, proven team.

First real chance to post since last night's obliteration. No way I could read through the whole thread. What a performance by our Buckeyes! I didn't expect that level of dominance. Stadium looked 65-35 OSU to UO. I was sitting in the Oregon end zone ( section 247) so I had a good view of the crowd that wasn't in our end zone. OSU side completely red. Duck side had a lot of red interspersed. My row and the one in front were nearly all Buckeyes.

Before the game a duck fan behind me noticed the overwhelming OSU presence and confidentiality suggested a lot people would be crying on the way out. I managed to keep my mouth shut.

AT&T Stadium is ridiculous. You seriously can't understand the screen till you see it in person. Really nice place to watch a game. My uncle and cousin were in the 28th row of the 4th deck and were amazed.

So awesome. First game since 2002 Penn State. Nothing like the electricity of a big home game, but totally awesome to see our boys claim themail trophy by taking the smaller kids lunch money.

Re: the last td Meyer actually showed some mercy not going for that 4th down when it was 4th and one on the 41 yard line w/4 minutes remaining. Yes Virginia, he gave the ball back to Oregon knowing they were totally exhausted at the end of the 3rd quarter. Again, the Ducks couldn't stop either Zeke or CJ to save their life the whole frickin' game. The only thing that stopped the Buckeyes were the Buckeyes.

Bottom line, Oregon fans have to talk about this 'cause they have nothing else to hang their hat on after getting thoroughly trounced!

ok, I'll say something nice about the Ducks. They were always in the right position when Ohio State made a turnover.

Practice, practice, practice ...

Am I the only one that thought it was low-class to score the final touchdown in the final seconds of the game? That's not an act of strength or class, just a lowly bully cowardly kicking someone when they're down. C'mon, 'coach' meyer, quit being the little boy who's still trying to get his daddy's approval by beating up on the opponent.
Yes you are, times 2. In my IMHO of course.

Flying back to California now..still surreal. Crazy to go from growing up a Buckeye fan but never actually getting to Columbus for a game, to heading to Dallas and see them just impose their will to lock up a national championship. Made even better by the fact that I took it in with one of the few buddies I didn't get to see while home for the holidays this year. McKinney Avenue Tavern the night before was awesome, have some video of boozy renditions of Hang On Sloopy and We Don't Give a Damn (this time with Oregon flavor), will share those when I get a chance to come back to earth and unwind. What an experience. Let's do it again next year.

Reason why I will respect Oregon's program more than FSU's.

In the end Malone rounded up most of the younger Ducks who were within earshot or arm’s reach and they followed him to do their toughest task of the night: admit defeat and look Ohio State right in the eyes and say it.
"You have to be a man when you win," Malone said after the game of his actions. "And you have to be a man when you are defeated."

This was another chance for Oregon's leaders to share some leadership with younger Ducks about how things are done at Oregon for one last time. A life lesson handed down from one recruiting class to another. Three or four years ago a similar scenario likely played out for a younger Malone and now he’s paying it forward. This was a passing of the guard between one Man of Oregon to another.

So is Ohio State the 2014 National Champions or 2015? I see both everywhere. I assumed they were 2014 National Champions. But won the 2015 National Championship Game. Hopefully we can be the 2015 National Champions, too.

I just got back to Ohio from the game. Drove down all day Saturday. Went to a Packer bar in Dallas on Sunday to watch the Packers/Cowboys game, then hung out in Fort Worth that night and booed shit.

Monday was awesome. We got to the tailgate just in time to see TBDBITL and then saw Zach Brown Band before entering the stadium. It was a madhouse getting in. Got to the seats, watched all the pregame. Didn't leave our seats until Carmen Ohio after the victory. I was nervous throughout until we stopped Oregon on 4th down up 15 in the middle of the fourth. For as many chances as we gave them, it was amazing how we just dominated. It was like we were playing at a completely different level. Great night. Finally got to go to a NCG, and the Buckeyes won it all! Got a lot of awesome pictures. Partied with the band after the game. Then with all the Buckeye fans out at bars. Then drove back all day today.

Now I want to spend the next week watching ALL he different versions of the ESPN broadcast! Need to go find those.

lmao @ those calling OSU a dirty program (pertaining to the "late" hit on Mariota).

Anyone who saw the unsportsmanlike conduct called on Bennett should know it was all started by an Oregon player trying to take a cheap shot.
HandyAnyDolphin.gif

Sure this can be argued as a late hit I suppose. I also suppose that the pussification of Duck fans would also call a regular, good form tackle on their divine QB a "cheap shot".

When it was live, I thought the double-pump was what screwed him. He throws it the first time and there's no contact.
There's nothing malicious about the tackle though. He'll get hit like that every game in the NFL.
