An 8-6 victory for the B1G this season. It was kind of a surprise that the B1G won this year, but conference expansion has clearly diluted the quality of the ACC basketball product - certainly having Duke and Carolina represent the ACC in 14% of the Challenge games (2/14) in a given year as opposed to 22% (originally they were playing in 2 of 9 Challenge games) has an impact as well. It gets overlooked, but it is easier to beat the ACC when they have to get 6 more teams aside from Duke and Carolina to win games (as opposed to the 3 they used to need when both won) in order to prevail in the event.
