2014 Week 3 B1G FB Open Thread

Can it get worse than last week?
Definitely. No FCS opponents this week.

With that said, this is actually a chance for the conference to gain back a modicum of respect, with five teams playing Power Five opponents.

But first things first. Ohio State, Michigan, and Nebraska all have to take care of business. I don't know what to expect out of Indiana but they should beat Bowling Green.

Now, the P5 games. Maryland should beat West Virginia. I can easily see Iowa State upending Iowa in Iowa City. TCU will probably beat Minnesota. No idea what to expect out of Illinois vs. Washington - Chris Petersen is off to a rough start - but I'm inclined to say Washington has the edge there. Purdue will be brutalized by Notre Dame.

trap game  you have got to be joking the love for the Irish is showing:frown:

Hey, I'm just going with history here, and Purdue has played us close in recent years. Same thing has happened with Pitt the last decade. There have been a number of years where Irish fans think they're going to crush Pittsburgh because they're having a crummy year, only to lose that game or it's decided by one score. Irish could score more on Purdue than they did against Michigan, but I'm willing to bet Purdue doesn't get shut out this week.

I thought we were talking about this year's Purdue team. Not teams from prior years and just because you do not shut out an opponent does not mean it is a trap game. That was just silly and it showed your unbiased love for the Irish

I'm refuting the idea that Purdue will be brutalized by Notre Dame based on recent history, I'm not sure how that shows my unbiased love for the Irish. I'm just being real here, we've made Purdue look good in recent games. It's not an opinion really, it's a fact, we've played like crap and Purdue comes in wanting to win those games. While the game against Michigan Saturday was fun, the Irish are fielding an awful lot of young players right now, and young players will make mistakes down the road. We're also missing 5 players in the academic investigation, and another starter to injury. It's just a matter of time before offensive coordinators get enough game film on VanGorder's defense and find ways to exploit it.

Pretty funny article describing all the fun things that you can do besides watch B1G Football.

http://www.everydayshouldbesaturday.com/2014/9/12/6137613/fun-activities-besides-big-ten-football

"You don't have to watch Big Ten football. I don't have to watch Big Ten football. No one ever has to watch Big Ten football. No one.
Instead of watching Big Ten football, you could write a book, or a screenplay, or a political screed. You could swallow metal objects."

Fun Activities List:

4.) Eating soap

5.) Watching someone else eat soap

13.) Wondering about things

14.) Wondering about things like, what would happen if you poked Brady Hoke in the tummy?

15.) Not hard, or anything.

16.) Gently, with the handle of a wooden spoon.

17.) :: poke ::

22.) Eating new things, like Ethiopian food.

23.) Eating even newer things, like glass.
