2014 Week 2 CFB Open Thread

- I think Mizzou needs to be on upset alert
- Always a weird week....thankfully one of ND/scUM loses...but one wins....ugh
- MSU @ Oregon, well, at least I'll get to see the first half
- USC @ Stanford....this will be a fun game and one I think USC may finally get over the hump. Either way I'm excited to watch Kevin Hogan, a guy I think could end up being the first QB drafted in 2015 and surprise many.

It would certainly surprise the piss out of me. What a stiff.

3 year starter from Stanford running a pro style offense from very well respected coaches there. Career completion rate at about 65% and rushed for 355 yards so gives you enough of an ability there. 6'4, 230 so good size too. He'll be a first rounder, just depends on how high he rises and who is choosing in the top 3 to determine what kind of style QB they want.

Woof, DickRod almost lost to Larry Coker...

Watched the last quarter-or-so of that game. Reminded me why Appy State remains such a sports miracle.

These poor little schools, almost always, when they get that close, their hands start to sweat and their brains scramble.
So sad, how they always get so close only to end up dating outside of their species with the pooch.

Yeah, you're right, the measurables are all there. But he reminds me of a McCown. Or maybe a Henne.

I enjoy it too.
I just scoff at the mediots that think good defense and strong running game is exceptional to Stanford, let alone something they're historically known for or invented.

Reminds me of a propaganda video they forced military to watch about how Cheney won the Iraq War with the "Cheney Doctrine"; which in essence was nothing more than a flanking movement. Revolutionary!
Not to mention the Generals could've played etch-a-sketch using 1st MarDiv and still taken Baghdad with little resistance. It's a 3rd world country ffs.
Also, Mission Accomplished 2003!

I think Notre Dame beats scUM. USC surprises everybody and beats Stanford. And of course, buckeyes beat VTech.

This all sounds awesome to me, except the USC part. USC is still pretty depleted, and a win against Stanford probably means that they really have turned a corner under Sark already. I hope USC continues to rebuild for at least another year or two, it's only a matter of time before they'll be playing that damn fight song after every 3 yard gain.
