The problem is overcompensating. There's a difference between tempering expectation and setting the bar low so as not to get your feelings hurt.

Nothing at this point suggests there's not a possibility to keep winning, so limping in is not suddenly the expectation.

If we had a top-10 defense capable of carrying the team, it'd be different.
But the strength of this team is the offense... Wilson was already a significant injury, now throw in a 3rd string QB who hasn't shown much in the few meaningful times he's played... sorry, but we just became Minnesota.
That's reality. I'll eat crow if not, but I doubt any of you will.
