11-1. One loss: Sparty.
Big time bowl win.
Gardner finally gets it.
Our offense finally implements Funchess like the Megatron he is.
Michigan finishes #11 in final poll.
We drink some, no, a lot.

You're predicting 11-1 with a big time bowl win (to get to 12-1) and you think that they'll finish #11? I think that's way too low. A 12-1 Michiigan team would finish in the Top 6-7 (at worst).

My prediction is that we go 11-3.

Beat ND. Beat one of MSU or OSU.

Those are the first three predictions and they only get better from there

Later they're talking about Hoke's response to being on the hot seat:

Hoke asked if he feels he'll still have a job in January: "Oh I don't know. I've got 115 sons to worry about." #Michigan
9:05 PM - 4 Oct 2014

And this gem comes out:
It's out of his control and I am guessing he doesn't want the team to hear him actually say he has no chance at returning. I was listening to the pre-game show on WTKA and Jon Jansen was talking about what it was like to play for Coach Carr in his interim role. He said it was tough, that every mistake you make, every missed tackle, etc. you think to yourself, oh man, did I just cost Coach his job? I am sure that's how our current players feel too. No matter what happens to him at the end of the season, I am sure Coach Hoke does not want to remind the players of that.
Yea, sounds like Funchess is really worried about Hoke's career... "just a statistic"
I'm sure he thinks "screw it, I'm going to get paid in the NFL anyway"

Michigan goes 12-2, figures out o-line issues sometime around the Utah game, but loses to MSU. Beats ND handily and eeks out a tough, but never really a contest victory against OSU (sorta like ND 2013). Beats Wisconsin in the Big ten championship by having a field day throwing the ball. We grab the fourth playoff spot, but lose out to some SEC team. (Damn you SEC *shakes fist angrily*)

Fourth playoff spot? Try 4th loss by October 4th.

it's like they didn't watch the last two seasons at all.

Funchess said the loss doesn’t increase the need for a win next week.

“Wins and losses, that’s just a statistic,” Funchess said. “We’re out here just playing together as a brotherhood, playing together as a family.”

This is actually quite incite-full. Now that I think of it that way Michigan does remind me of the backyard when our family gets together for Thanksgiving.

They go on to win the next two games and head to Columbus at 10-1.

Ohio State comes into the matchup at 11-0, having only played one tough team all season. From the beginning, it’s clear Michigan’s offensive line has developed, matured, and come a long way from the beginning of the season. Derrick Green rushes for 105 yards while De’Veon Smith adds 57. Michigan’s defense is suffocating and UM gets the win, 38-17.

Scenario: what happens if we win-out?
I'd like to propose this scenario and get a general discussion back . My buddy and I were arguing about Hoke's future and we couldn't agree. So what say you MGOBLOG nation?
The scenario (as unlikely as it may be) :

Hoke and company win out. This means we beat Penn State under the lights. We beat both Sparty and Ohio on the road. We thus finish 8-4 and and likely second in our division as the winner of the MSU/OSU game will likely finish with only one conference loss. In this scenario would Hoke keep his job?

I argued yes. He would have beaten both main rivals on the road. Won 6 straight. And more importantly finished with 8 wins which we kind of assumed from the beginning of the season that's where we'd end up.

My buddy argues nothing can save Hoke due to concussion gate.

My rebuttal is time heals all wounds and if he wasn't fired immediately there's still a chance. Plus there's no home run coach lined up to succeed him.

Humor me and chime in.
