2014 TSUN Shenanigans and Arguments

Jones is a Michigan native though. Has ties to Ferris State & CMU, plus stops at schools in Ohio, Pennsylvania & West Virginia, so would be a natural recruiting the area. He'd be abandoning a rebuild that he's two years into, but Michigan's roster does have some talent and he wouldn't be nearly as far behind there as where he was starting when he arrived at Tennessee. He'd also be moving to the B1G where his path to a championship is easier.

I think he's the best, realistic choice UM has, and hope they don't hire him.

What in the world makes anyone think he'd leave Tennessee for Michigan? And, yes, this is said knowing full well the Tennessee program is complete garbage right now too.

Plus, who would live in that God-forsaken wasteland if they didn't have to.
Why not? Solid history to the program if you ignore the 2000's, biggest stadium in the SEC (for the time being), strong alumni backing, one of maybe three SEC programs that could make a long run at Alabama's reign - LSU, Georgia being the other two and frankly neither of those is getting it done - not a very strong academic program - though things are getting better - beautiful setting for the campus, you don't have to marry the banjo player or one of his brothers, but you do have to be able to listen to Rocky Top X infinity squared. I could see that as a deal breaker.

Oops, I meant that God-forsaken wasteland up north. I rather like Rocky Top.

Valid points. I think Jones is a good, not great coach. Certainly wouldn't be a "homerun" hire, but I'd think he could get them to where they're at least respectable. Plus, it would cement Tennessee as a stepping stone program...and that would be fucking awesome.

Tennessee is just now starting to show some signs of life...they would have to pay him Saban money to get him away now, I think, because I think Tennessee will be matching anything within any sort of reason.

YMCA, Rocky Top and the Hokey Pokey - if I never heard them again life would be better. As for going to Ann Arbor... biggest stadium in the Big Ten, biggest alumni club in the US, biggest endowment fund in the Big Ten by a wide margin, strong academics along with programs in kinesiology and criminal justice for the gifted-and-talented-just-not-AP-material-set you'll be recruiting, still within striking distance of the all time best record in CFB, only one program threatens your leadership though East Lansing can be a pain in the keister, fuck the gold domers and the folks at BP - this is the most iconic helmet in college football and the best fight song. You don't have to listen to Rocky Top unless you're in a bowl game somewhere.

Shhhhhhhhhhh...I'm dreaming of a Vols message board meltdown for Christmas. Bonus, it would also likely cause a small one at scUM to because he's not a Harbaugh. Win-win.

Judging by the current climate on their boards, they've moved on from current savior Shane Morris and are now annointing '15 commit Alex Malzone the new "chosen one."

So they've given up on September Heismans and gone full in on NLI Heismans (Sponsored by Jimmy Clausen)

No Cinci... no. Say it isn't so. I could've dealt with the helmet remark, but the fight song? My god man! Come back from the ledge!

Why the best? Lower range, drowns out everybody else's song, instant public recognition. Don't confuse acknowledgement with preference. I love Across the Field, but The Victors is the better fight song.

Why on Earth would he go from one stepping stone program to another, shittier one??
