Looks like an excellent matchup to me. I like the way the teams are stacked. I'm looking at a big day from someone who isn't penciled in like Thomas.

I'll be recording it so I can watch it several times more over the summer.

Finally, someone wakes up . . .

With a sunny day and temperatures in the 70s expected, Urban Meyer wants a packed house at Ohio Stadium for Saturday's spring football game. Chasing that, Ohio State admitted, and attempted to correct, a pricing mistake on Friday, dropping the price of tickets from $20 to $5.

"We overpriced it," athletic director Gene Smith told cleveland.com at a football coaches clinic at Ohio State on Friday morning that included speeches from Meyer and Browns coach Mike Pettine. "We deserve to have a huge crowd, so we said, 'Let's change it.

Meyer said he'd like to shoot for a crowd of 90,000 or 100,000 at the game. Asked if he was involved in dropping the ticket price, Meyer raised his eyebrows and grinned. He said he's totally focused on recruiting, and the best thing for recruiting is a big crowd and great atmosphere.

Just a list of things I cannot wait to see tomorrow (in no order):

1) The QBs: Typically we have QBs look like all-stars in this game and with the weather report, this year should be no exception. UFM has raved about Cardale and it sounds like he has really stepped up his game. Then you have J.T. Barrett, who I expect to struggle some...I mean, he just got over a serious injury and although he is healthy now, his development was undoubtedly stunted some. Still excited to see how he plays. And finally, I want to see if Collier gets some snaps. Sure he will struggle but I just want to see what he brings to the table tangibly.

2) The DBs: Sure Reeves is listed as the starter but I fully anticipate Conley and Apple to push him and probably pass him. Reeves is going to get pushed hard by a stacked Scarlet lineup at WR and we should see where we stand overall with our starting DBs (keep in mind Bell should make a big difference and is out). Grant is supposedly improved night and day, so I want to see how he does against C. Smith and D. Smith. We also haven't seen Conley yet, so it will be interesting to see how he responds against our WRs. If Barrett has a halfway decent day though, the Scarlet DBs may get torched...Apple and a walk-on will start at corner, and Tanner/Thompson at safety.

3) The WRs: We already know what Devin Smith brings, but there are many new faces. I can't wait to see Dixon, kid is a flat out gamer and I expect good things from him...plus Thomas and Greene are the only other WRs worth mentioning on Gray, so he should play alot. Haven't seen Corey Smith yet and have heard nothing but good things. Thomas is a guy that has supposedly improved alot and is an all-time star of the spring game...hopefully he develops into a regular season star. Very excited to see how they utilize Dontre at his new position. This unit, combined with our RBs, is the deepest on the team other than maybe DL. Really wish Jalin Marshall was healthy for this.

4) Raekwon McMillan: Have heard nothing but great reviews. Obviously still grasping the system but all the talent is there. Either way, it will be exciting to see #5 roaming out there. He should start for Gray, as Grant is playing for Scarlet.

5) Curtis Samuel: Another electric guy added to our roster that should compete. I know he is considered a RB right now, but I am curious to see how he is utilized...I am guessing much like Dontre was last season.

6) The OL: Almost a completely new group but the starting OL is pretty much in tact for the Scarlet team. In particular, I want to see how Underwood and Boren look inside, plus the Baldwin/Lisle battle at RT. Baldwin is a veteran with plenty of natural ability but Lisle is abundantly talented, young, and is a very smart kid. I also expect Trout and M. Jones to struggle, but it will still be fun to see our Ohio freshies out there competing...both kids need serious Coach Mick time and to adapt to the system, but I still have high hopes for both of them. Of note, Trout should start, as the only other tackle on Gray is Dodson.

7) Other LBs not named Raekwon: Has Perry made that step that UFM has said he has? Will a light finally click for Grant to the point where he will be better than mediocre? Has Trey Johnson progressed? Is Darron Lee going to make the loss of Shazier not-so-noticeable? Chris Worley has also shown flashes. This is a position that has potential, but way more question marks than answers.

8) The RBs: EzE is a treat to watch and I want to see his progress. Smith is a senior I am pulling for and hopefully he is ready for a stellar senior campaign. Really interested to see if Dunn has taken the next step as well. Plus Samuel is the only other RB on Scarlet (EzE being the other), so he should get plenty of looks.

9) Nuernberger at kicker: Haven't heard too many rave reviews on him and it sounds like he has struggled a bit...I will be very interested to see how he responds in front of the crowd.

10) Marcus Baugh: I know he is in the doghouse but UFM made it seem like he has worked very hard to get out. The athleticism is clearly there and he has turned heads this spring. The silver lining to Heureman being out is that Baugh will start and get plenty of opportunities tomorrow. Plus the coaches love to create the facade up in the spring that this is finally the year we will really use our TEs, so he should get lots of looks.

11) The younger DL: We already know that Bosa, Spence, Diesel, and Bennett are all outstanding, so not much to see there. However, I want to see Tyquan Lewis...lots of hype around him. Plus Schutt is in his junior year, hopefully he is healthy and has improved. Ditto on Carter, I want to see him perform and be disruptive in our rotation. Then you have the unknowns in Hill (somewhat, he has nothing but positive reviews), Sprinkle (how much has he developed physically?), Munger (no idea where he stands after missing last year?), and though he is a senior, lots of word that Rashad Frazier is a tough guy.

I'll guess around 30-40k. If tickets weren't $20 and rather were free I would guess twice that, maybe 60-80k.

Edit: I know they're trying to make money, but if the spring game is as big of a recruiting tool as most believe, would the sacrifice of a few hundred thousand dollars be worth the atmosphere that recruits would be taking in if the crowd was 70k vs 35k?
Meyer said he'd like to shoot for a crowd of 90,000 or 100,000 at the game. Asked if he was involved in dropping the ticket price, Meyer raised his eyebrows and grinned. He said he's totally focused on recruiting, and the best thing for recruiting is a big crowd and great atmosphere.

Must be a pretty smart guy that Urban

Add me to the list of people who think the Spring Game should be about filling the Horseshoe in an impressive fashion for the premiere recruiting event of the Spring and giving fans an opportunity to watch football in Ohio Stadium that might not otherwise have a chance.

It should not be about making money, which it was obviously moving towards.

I am glad that Meyer put his foot down on the idiocy of $20 tickets and hopefully he will continue to do so moving forward. If I could make one additional suggestion, I would say that students should always get into the Spring Game for free as an extension of the student appreciation day.

Next to Warriner? Yeah it's Big Hongry.

I wanna know who's the dude at the top of the Block O next to Dixon. I'd say Raekwon but none of the other LBs are in the photo. I see all the other OL/DL/TEs so it must be some brolic skill position guy.

It's free with an OSU student ID.

But the suggestion should be extended to high school students and younger. Right now it's 6-and-under are free and everyone else needs a ticket.

If they honestly need the money that bad -- and I don't think they should -- sell ads on the uniforms. It's legal in the Spring Game (you're only allowed one sponsor during regular NCAA-sanctioned events, which is Nike).

Quite frankly, I'm shocked Gene and Co. hasn't done it already. Like a Nationwide on the back of the uni for the Spring Game. They've darn near monetized everything else.
