2014 NFL (Well, Browns, so, sorta "NFL") Draft Thread

Being 17th in passing =/= a good passing attack. that means they were average.

And what about teams that were 3rd, 5th, 7th, 11th-16th?

In case you didn't notice, and judging from your posting history you haven't, all of those teams have either an above average to good defense or an efficient to HOF-level Quarterback. I know this was pointed out to you about 30 pages again, but in your quest to be the worst poster since CraigJWalkup (IN THE HIZZZOUSE), you've ignored it yet again.

8-12 playoff teams had a good passing attack. You that dense that you don't think a great offense makes a good D? You keep pts on the boards and your D off the field. Yes there are some great QB's on those teams, but when is the last time a QB has been great without a WR? They go hand in hand. There is no ignoring anything. The FACTS are that 8-12 playoff teams were great passing teams. This is 2014, the days of 3yds and a cloud of dust are over. I get that you were born in the 1920's and feel that rushing is the only way to play offense, I get that you're trying to be the second coming of Woody Hayes, but get to reality man. 99% of the football world right now is confused why the Browns have no WR's, but I am supposed to listen to a handful of internet tough guys who clearly are missing the boat? No thanks. I hope it doesn't come to it, but don't be shocked when in 6 months we look at this thread and realize our offense is crap bc we can't move the ball since we have no WR that can get open, and therefore no running lanes for Tate. I'm sure you all will just find a way to blame Johnny Manziel though for it.

Ask any HOF QB ever any, and ask them if they could have been a HOF QB with no WR's.

Unless you're telling me Peyton Manning etc could still be super successful with Greg Little as the #1 option. Please... Great QB's get to great QB's in part by the WR's who are catching those passes and getting open.

New England's best weapon is a TE. New Orleans best weapon is again, a TE. Indy's best weapons are Dwayne Allen and Fleener. P San Francisco's best weapon is... You guessed it - TE.

Brady thrives with average receivers. Manning, Breesy, Rodgers, Rivers, all have mediocre receivers. I take that back, Jordy Nelson is pretty damned good.

I think you get that point that elite or even blue chip receivers are not a pre-requisite for success in the NFL.

You're pretty dense aren't you? And there is no we as you, thankfully, have absolutely no role with the team, Mary Kay.

No I am not at all dense for wanting a passing game when 8 of the last 12 playoff teams had one. I would say that makes me very smart. Perhaps your 30 carries a game for the RB works well on Madden as far as results but.... Wait! Assuming you don't know Madden is a video game that people play on video game consoles with their fancy picture boxes. Not sure if you know much outside of your 96 Apple Desktop QB and your AARP card.

That's great - you realize the Browns had a better passing game last year than most of those 8, right?

The cognitive dissonance you've shown (not to mention your lack of grasp upon the English language) has truly been something to behold. And considering what you're talking about is straight out of some sort of video game dream land, perhaps you need to stop playing Madden and realize that the NFL game is still about good defense and controlling the clock.

Tom Brady won 2 super bowls with a decrepit Troy Brown as his best receiver and a 3rd with his best receiver being Deion Branch. Surely you aren't this dense.

The Browns don't have Tom Brady or Peyton Manning or anyone like that throwing the ball. QBs of that caliber can take any receiver who can run a bit and catch the ball and push them to the Pro Bowl and beyond. Brady threw for 5000 yards with Julian Edelman this year. Wake up already.

Yes they do. Did you miss the part where they drafted Manziel?!
