2014 NFL Week 1 Open Thread

Lacy is good, hell GB has, I would argue, the best overall set of skill people in the league...but their line is turrible, and always gets hurt. Same thing last night with Bulaga. I avoided GB players in fantasy this year because I just don't think they are going to be worth their draft spots, because I think in many games that line won't hold up.

Exactly, when Bulaga (sp?) went down I thought it might be time to shop Lacy. Hell, Starks had as much if not more action than him last night. This whole offseason I was lead to believe he'd be in there on 3rd downs.
I've already generated some interest, I'm just going to see what I can get in return. I still think its early enough on where I can get an equal trade.

Lacy also got another concussion last night...so that could become a thing with him.

Every year its the same thing. My 1st round RB pick always fucks me over. Jamaal Charles? ACL tear. Alfred Morris? Roy Helu starts getting more carries. AP? Guess what, another god damn ACL tear.

Honestly I should just trade my 1st round pick every year for a 2nd and 4th rounder just to avoid this curse.

The Packers are going to be somewhere between really bad and mediocre this year. Their OL is a mess, and that defense...woof.
Eh, Rodgers will get them to 10 wins by himself. The problem with the Packers is their interior defense is not very good. The secondary was god-awful last season, but at least Clinton-Dix was in the right position to make a play. He didn't make them, but he was there, which is more than the other members of the secondary can say.

They'll probably win the division again with anywhere from 10-12 wins, but that's not really enough anymore. It's time to start measuring themselves against the Seattles and San Franciscos of the world, and they're getting a failing grade in that regard.

So we are 1 game in, and we might have 2 backs (Lacy and Ellington) with moderate to serious injuries already...sure makes things unpredictable. And also shows why RBs seem to be valued they way they are (or are not).

I'm glad Jerry Jones is making a ton of money off his giant stadium, particularly from the 40,000 fans of opposing teams who help fill it every week. :roll1:
