Straight up, until about 7 months ago this is what I knew about "soccer" terms and teams.
"Chelsea" to me was Bill and Hillary's daughter. "Arsenal" was an accumulation of weapons and ammunition. "Messi" was what my kids diapers were when they were babies. And "On the pitch" was when the runner on first base broke for second."
Initially, all this was inspired by "sportsbook" betting. I started betting on EPL games last fall when there was nothng else to bet on. EPL onto the World Cup bets got me to Max out at $406,000 only a week and a 1/2 ago, only to piss away about $280,000 in the past week. Easy come, easy go.
Anyway, you guys here are obviously diehard fans of this game that the hot chick in the commercial I watched today (black dress, black hair, perfect tits-hopefully somebody else saw this when three of them went into a man-cave and transformed it into a soccer cave) referred to as "Futbol." These World Cup games, to me, are just so incredibly intense in the final minutes. Every game, from here on out, is a game 7. It's the NCAA hoops Tourney x 1,000 in terms of World standing.
So, to all of you who frequent this thread, please just keep posting. Post what you know, what you think, and what you expect, because as a new "fan" of this sport I appreciate it. And most of all, thanks to Jlb1705 for all the work he puts into keeping us "bettors" on our toes. Or in my case lately, flat on my ASS!
Peace, and as always:
GO BUCKEYES!!!
GO USA!!!!!!!!!!!
