2014 FIFA World Cup - Brazil

good question. I guess there is a reason both are going off at the same time.

I think it was in '82 or around then with West Germany-Austria doing a pitiful lack of effort tie which allowed both to advance over Algeria. There was huge outrage after and ever since the games now must go off at the same time.

Don't expect any delay; game will go off on time.

Given everything, the rain and the Ghana suspensions - the 'intangibles' are definitely trying to help us as much as possible.

**Correction, West Germany won the match 1-0 and after the goal, if the game stayed as is they would both advance as Alergia had played before them, thus putting no incentive to continue to play the match as should be.

Which is just going to make it even more heart-breaking when it all goes wrong.

RECIFE, Brazil – United States head coach Jurgen Klinsmann made two changes to his starting lineup for Thursday's World Cup Group G finale against Germany, replacing center back Geoff Cameron with Omar Gonzalez and midfielder Alejandro Bedoya with Brad Davis.

Klinsmann declared everyone but injured forward Jozy Altidore fully fit on Wednesday. That did not stop him from making a change in his defense by benching Cameron, whose failed clearance led to Portugal's fifth-minute goal in Sunday's 2-2 draw in Manaus.

Bedoya had put in two workmanlike performances at right midfield. He is replaced by Davis, the Houston Dynamo veteran who will make his World Cup debut at left midfield. Graham Zusi will move to his regular right midfield spot with Michael Bradley manning the middle of a five-man midfield.

U.S. Fans Bought a Ton of World Cup Tickets

Surprised the United States is the world’s second-largest market for World Cup tickets, behind only host Brazil? Experts say you shouldn’t be.

FIFA, soccer’s global governing body, says about 200,000 tickets were sold in the United States, many through an online lottery months ago.

Kind of surprising considering the overall expense (tickets, airline, hotels, Brazilian VISA, etc.) and how bad the economy is supposed to be.

United States' decisive Group G clash against Germany on Thursday will be played as scheduled despite torrential rains in Recife, FIFA has confirmed.

Doesn't too look bad in Ricife (most eastern point):
