Maybe they already have it. Seriously, I do not know how many times I tried but I always got prompted for a cell phone number and I do not know how many messages I would have received but once a place get your cell phone number best of luck.

Never received one...they can have it too - with my house being sold in Springfield, I won't have to keep a 937 area code much longer

Bump

Yahoo didn't ask for my number either FWIW

They asked for mine every try. The message boards are full of people complaining about it.

Just tried one more time, same result.

Some kind person let me use his cell phone number so I have signed up for Yahoo and the Eshit website and the latter will be my main one.

They want the cell phone number on Yahoo so they can send your cell phone a verification number in case you ever forget your password.

They want your cell phone number because they can use/sell them for marketing purposes. Email verification has worked for password renewal for years.

Yeah if you read a little further down you also agree to get spam from them.

By clicking Send SMS, I have reviewed and agree to the E-SIGN Terms
and authorize Yahoo to send me automated, marketing text messages.

Yeah, I noticed that and that is why I did not want to use my wife's cell phone number but as I mentioned some kind person let me use his so I guess he will bear the brunt unfortunately. F*** Yahoo.
