None at all really. They didnt have a timeout to take and think about it. They telegraphed a toss to corner of the endzone. I think it was a rushed decision made on happiness rather than strategy.

They had the momentum and could have taken it to OT. I would rather take the momentum into overtime with 4 tries rather than one single attempt at the very end of a game.

Some actual information from a credible source:

"The brawl appeared to have erupted after helmeted BYU center Tejan Koroma bumped helmet-less Memphis defensive end Martin Ifedi in the head. Koroma might have been pushed into Ifedi, because video shows he appears to be looking behind him when Ifedi threw a forearm at his head. As Koroma warily faced the blue-clad Tigers after momentarily going down, Memphis defensive end Christian Johnson swung his helmet at the back of Koroma’s head."
