Actually, the best game on right now is the Sugar Bowl replay on SEC network.
The excuses have already begun I saw something in the comment sections of an article yesterday about the Interwebs trolling the SEC they were bitching about the matchups... I can't find it but they were bitching that they were facing top teams from other conferences...
And, the SEC lower order won meaningless bowls, while the B1G top order won the best bowls.
Easy to cut that both ways...
So like a 5-3 Minnesota going up against 7-1 Missouri?
Sec west 5 loses to best independent that almost beat FSU
Sec west 4 Loses to b1g 2 overall
Sec west 3 loses to Big 12 co champ
Sec west 2 loses to ACC 2 overall
If sec west teams played teams that finished near where the sec teams did it’d be blowouts. Imagine auburn vs Rutgers or miss st vs duke or North Carolina, ole miss vs Oklahoma or wvu, lsu vs navy. I’m pretty sure almost all of these would be blowout sec wins
Here’s another, some would say more accurate, way to look at it:
Sec west 5 loses to a team tied for 2nd among the 4 independent teams (so Notre Dame only have a better record than one other independent while the sec west #5 at least has a better record than 2 other sec west teams)
Sec west 4 loses to 3rd best team in Big Ten
Sec west 3 loses to Big 12’s #2 team by almost 40 points (TCU lost to Baylor so while technically “co champs” they were really the #2 team. Also, the sec has 16 teams while the Big 12 has 10 teams so a straight down the line comparison isn’t accurate)
Sec west 2 loses to ACC #2 (and it wasn’t really close)
Sec west 1 loses to Big 10 #1
Plus, there was a lot of talk from sec fans that the sec west #4 or #5 team would win x conference. At least we know that is not true.
I know the article was about the sec west but the sec east had very advantageous matchups
Sec east #1 vs Big 10 East #3
Sec east #2 vs ACC Atlantic Division #3
Sec east #3 vs American Athletic Conference #4
Sec east #4 vs. ACC Coastal Division #5
sec east #5 vs Big 10 West #4
Pitt is trying to blow a 21 point 4th quarter lead. Houston just recovered their 2nd onside kick.
