That one was legit and was also roughing the passer. Ours is a fucking travesty of a call. He's turning his damn away from him for gawd's sake. arrrrrghgggggh

It is a perfect example of leading with the shoulder, but if you dip the shoulder at all, the helmet just automatically sticks out because you're leaning and will naturally make contact first. That's where replay needs to understand that it is basically impossible to avoid a helmet hit there and look at what the shoulder is doing. They evidently looked at the helmet and ignored the shoulders.

What we have are guys making determinations about targeting who probably didn't play very much football. When you hit someone correctly with enough momentum the helmet will also make contact. Don't worry Corey will get the Jack Tatum hit of the week....

Yeap... exact redo of the Roby call. Which the conference basically admitted was a bad call.

I mean, if I'm able to have that understanding of equipment and how a hit happens as someone who doesn't play the game, expecting the officials to have that same understanding (especially in replay where they have time to look at it like I do at home) should be a given. That they seemingly don't really drives me nuts.
