Texas Longhorns wide receiver Mike Davis delivered a dirty hit to the knee of Iowa State defensive back Deon Broomfield during Thursday’s Big 12 matchup in Ames. Davis, who received a penalty for the hit, was lucky not to be ejected from the game for his egregious lack in judgement, which happened after Longhorns running back Joe Bergeron scored a touchdown to give Texas a 24-20 third quarter lead. This kind of hit has the potential to not only end someone’s season, but all also put their career in jeopardy.

That GIF above is forgiving to Davis...the zoomed out on shows WR Kendall Sanders blocking correctly, Bergeron (well, his knees down are visible) in the end zone, and Davis gooning it up. At least ten yards away from a play that was ending.
