2013 TSUN Football News

I get what you're saying. The offense will be pound the rock with solid backs, quick flairs to the wideouts, or deep bombs to WR's. Denard made Al include designed runs a feature of the O. He'll still include a few of those, but the other aspects are still the same. So unless the wideouts are better at eluding tacklers, Devin is an elusive runner (doubtful), or the O-line improved, expect the offense to be around the same production level.

Yea, agreed. But a qb maturing is invaluable, it can take the same offense to another level. Borges said last year they only installed and ran less than 30 percent of the offense, and this year up to date he has installed more than 80 percent of his offense. That is a drastic change, it shows devin is starting to get it. Now execution we will see if they can do that. Luckily they play CMU out the gate.

So, you think it only takes Devin Gardner, a guy who only started a few games last year at QB, one off season to master an offense as complex as the WCO?

Where did he say master? He said Devin is maturing, and more of the offense has been installed now we have to wait and see if he can execute in a game.

It should be an interesting season. Both Devin and Braxton only had a fraction of the offense installed. Heck urban and Herman have both driven home that Braxton wasn't really effective at running the option last year and they went with a lot more single wing and pro style sets as a result.

Braxton will have a lot easier time with his line and skill players compared to Gardner, especially with the loss of Darboh, who was having a strong camp. Gallon is a pure football player but not a great choice for a guy to carry a unit. Fortunately they play in a dreadful conference so that should only be a concern in 4 games.

Funchess was underutilized last year. They were already planning a lot of two te sets. He now has to become a focal point of the offense if they are going to move the ball. I expect to see him moved around and flexed out to create mismatches.

Master OR maturing, doesn't matter. The WCO is predicated upon ball control and disciplined QB play.

A person can say "We've installed 90% of our offense," and it won't make a damn bit of difference. That's just coachspeak.

Remember.....for every Joe Montana, there's a Mark Sanchez. Which is Gardner?

Darboh is not a huge loss... Sure he was looking like the 2nd outside WR but he hasnt made a catch to date... Chesson was not far behind him and is not much of a "downgrade"... The WR corps was never going to be a strong point... Devin just has to make the proper reads and get the ball there... He isnt going to be bailed out many time... Funchess needs to be targeted at least 7-10 times per game...The interior OL is going to make or break the offense... I am sold on Kalis but nobody else.

The issue being, with no real deep threat and the interior OL in question, the defenses can just key in on the TEs while the D-line stops the run.

Afro-American and African Studies isn't exactly a hard major to graduate early with.
It's not as easy you make it sound...

Take for example a black man from Jamaica now living in New York - he's not an Afro-American. Conversely, a white guy from South Africa who now lives in New York is an Afro-American.

Just saying... it can be kind of confusing.

What if the black man from Jamaica moves to Jamaica, New York....is he a Jamaican Afro-American?
