Watched the replay casually as I was making dinner, and really liked what I saw. Braxton is greatly improved in pretty much every area, the defense looks pretty decent (as long as Reeves shows a little more restraint and gets better with his timing, the PIs really stuck out for me for some reason), and I'm really excited to get into summer practice to hear how things keep firming up.

The last week of August can't come soon enough! Let's go Bucks! :osu:

Not surprising. As many benefits as have been pimped for holding the game in Cincy, I just never bought it. You estrange the students and the alumni who cannot travel from Columbus. I realize things need done for our brand on the Ohio River, but I just never felt this was the answer. Recruits have a heck of a time getting down and figuring the visit out, especially those OOS guys. I suppose I understand changing things up this year with "modest" renovations...but in the future, please keep this in the 'Shoe for the students and let the non-Central Ohioans make the travel arrangements, not the students.

The middle backer is the big issue, grant looks unsure at times and thinking so much he is playing slower and less physical .

Grant actually didn't play badly. He did have one missed tackle, but also blasted two guys over the middle (so much for the "less physical" statement) and for the most part tackled well.

Lets be honest here, the students are probably the lowest priority in college football and schools know this. If the students really mattered then bowl games wouldn't be so expensive and in some of the most expensive cities in america while students are on winter break.
I think it was a very good strategy to have the game in PBS, and surprised more schools don't do the same if they have close NFL stadiums. Recruits will go wherever to see the game as will fans. Osu is big enough where they have alumni all over the country and especially all over ohio. Wouldn't be surprised more if urban does this again in the future. Filling more than half of PBS in a city sometimes seen as not as pro-buckeye as the rest of the state is actually a pretty good sign. I definitely like having it in the shoe, but also like the way the staff is innovative in their process of finding new ways to arouse the fan base around the entire state and not just central ohio and northern.

I thought Grant looked pretty good yesterday. He was way more physical than in the past and made a couple of good open field tackles. Considering it was basically a passing camp he did pretty good for a middle linebacker. Definitely not his strengths but he acquitted himself well and should be good to go by conference schedule. He covers a lot of ground too which was good to see.

Joel Hale is one big s.o.b. The middle looked to be clogged all day long with he and Bennet or whomever else was in there. Linsley wasnt playing center but I have 0 worries about this defensive line. I don't even need to comment on the DE's - just filthy good.

Apple will be special as already mentioned. The Safeties made me a bit nervous getting torched in the passing game though. That needs to get fixed for sure.

Devin Smith, Evan Spencer, Corey "Philly Brown", Chris Fields and Michael Thomas are as underrated a group as I can remember. They will do great things this fall and the playmakers coming in will only add great depth along with Jordan Hall in the specialized role.

All 3 QB's are freaking good. I don't think I've ever been this positive about an entire group of QB's in my life at Ohio State. Any of them could lead this team to a BiG title this year.
