I hadn't realized renovations to Ohio Stadium were behind this. Since they are, I think this is a brilliant move. No better way to sell Ohio State Buckeyes football to Cincinnati and northern Kentucky.

That totally sucks for the students in the stadium dorm. You would think they would make changes that allowed for the dorms to stay. More bathrooms I say yes. More box seats? F that. There are already too many people there sitting on their hands on Saturdays.

It is to repair and maintain concrete from the original construction in 1922.

As far as I know, the stadium dorm program hasn't actually been in the stadium since it was moved for the major renovation at the turn of the millennium.

OSU last played its spring game outside of Ohio Stadium in 2001 during the height of a $200 million-plus renovation-expansion. The venue that year was Columbus Crew Stadium.

This time the work at Ohio Stadium will include replacing some of the original concrete from the 1922 construction, especially in the A and C decks. They were portions that were not a major part of the expansion-renovation which took place from 1998-2001.

I've already posted several times, the NE Ohio media is so pro OSU it's funny. If Urban Meyer sneezes, the media runs a story saying; God bless you:). Trying to bolster our standing in Cincinnati is not a bad idea.

Renovations...how did I miss that. I will bite my tongue now. Still sucks they can't have it in the 'Shoe though. And I will just say from living in SW Ohio, I've never seen any deficiencies with OSU fandom. However, I frequently see scUM gear up around Toledo and plenty of ND fans from the Catholic schools. Always seems we struggle with recruits not from Cleveland as well.

And the few times I've been in Cincinnatti, I saw more UC, Xavier, and Kentucky shirts than Ohio State.

Yeah that article was about the original renovation in 98.

I would guess they didn't do this in 2001 A) Because it wasn't necessary yet and B) Because they only have so much time to get the work done before it's needed for the season.

I can't say that I have been in Cincy enough to have a real basis for saying so, other than I know a ton of OSU alums in Cincy and when I visit I see plenty of OSU attire. Personal experiences will differ I suppose. And on the opposite end, I always see way more scUM gear when I go to northern Ohio.
