2013 LSU Tiger Baseball

regional host sites announced last night.
we already knew we'd be hosting, but last night made it official.

NCAA selection show today at 11 central time.

I'm expecting LSU to be the #3 National seed.
very, very outside chance at cracking top 2, but i don't think that will happen.

LSU gets the #4 National seed.

not as pretty on paper as top 2, but looking at the pairings, I think we got a really favorable draw.

up next, Jackson St. in Baton Rouge Friday (2pm central time)

congrats to LSU Baseball

since there is no general baseball thread I guess ill state my complaint here...

how the fuck does Florida go 29-30 and get into the tourney? the obvious SEC bias in baseball is disgusting

because they're Florida.

Auburn had a very similar resume, but beat Florida during the season.
Auburn got left out, Florida got in.

they both should have stayed home.

in Florida's defense, they were probably rewarded for playing the strongest OOC schedule in the country.

LSU beat Oklahoma in Game 1 of the Baton Rouge Super Regional.

an epic 2-0 pitcher's duel.

OU started Jonathon Gray (#3 overall pick in draft this year).
LSU threw Aaron Nola (SEC pitcher of the year).

Gray went 7+ scoreless until LSU finally got to him in the 8th.
Nola went the distance in a 2 hit shutout. Only faced 2 over the minimum.

Game 2 tonight at 6 (central time)

Friday night's crowd was the largest in LSU history at 11,095 (actual)

that record lasted 24 hours, as the Saturday night game drew 11,401 (actual)

for the season, LSU drew sold a new NCAA record 473,298.
surpassing their own record 472,391 set last year, doing it with 1 less game than last season.

LSU also became the 1st team in NCAA history to average over 11,000 tickets sold per game (11,006).

Nutria, I'm pretty sure you have more posts in this single thread about LSU baseball than every other post in this section about Buckeye baseball.

Btw, 1st game of the supers may have been one of the best college games I've seen in a while. Gray was the real deal and Nola kept bringing it. Loved watching it.

Geaux Tigers!! Bring home #7!!
