2013 College World Series

without googling and without wanting to talk up michigan, they pretty much were the Reds infield there for a little while. Chris Sabo, Barry Larkin, and Hal Morris were all at michigan I believe at the same time. that team had the one armed man Jim Abbot (i believe he was with the Reds for a little while) too.

oh and fuck michigan.

And who was the last Big Ten school school to win the CWS?

Yep, OSU in '66

that's more recent than the last time an ACC team won it.
but the talking heads still suck them off every damn year.

happened again this year with them getting 3 national seed (UNC, Virginia, and FSU), and lots of talk about potentially a 4th with NC State.

My neighbor's son (Trent Thornton) is a freshman pitcher on UNC. I have seen him grow up and he has a nasty slider and his velocity is well up into the 90's. Nicest kid you would ever want to meet and he made the Freshman All-America team with an ERA around 1.17.....

i haven't had a chance to really watch UNC this year.

they were #1 most of the season, and then stumbled the last 2 weeks to fall a few spots in the polls.
From what I've read, they have a few solid arms (they usually do).

I really hope they beat USCe tomorrow so LSU can get a shot at them in Omaha.

Teams have been grouped together in the following brackets:

Bracket 1: Indiana, Louisville, Mississippi State and Oregon State.

Bracket 2: LSU, N.C. State, North Carolina and UCLA.

The final round stretches over a week and a half period. Group play begins on Saturday and will last, depending on game outcomes, as long as Saturday, June 22. The championship series will begin on Monday, June 24, with an if-necessary Game No. 3 concluding the tournament on Wednesday, June 26. All games will be played in TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb.

Below is the complete schedule for the CWS. It may make your brain hurt a bit, but don't worry, we'll be putting out individual day schedules every morning that will be a little more manageable. We'll also be updating this schedule as we move forward, which will make the maze of "winner of Game X vs. loser of Game Y" easier to follow.

All times Eastern. National seeds in parentheses.
