2013 BPCFFB II Season Thread

another good pick. I thought long and hard about smith but convinced myself it was crazy to turn down the last bonafide #1 wr for a system pick at rb, though it is a very tempting one.

I was hoping Jordan Matthews would fall to me, but it wasn't to be. I was really torn about whether to go RB or WR, but I had memories of Joseph Randle popping around in my head from having him last year. Smith is obviously not as good as Randle was, but he should be given ample opportunities to handle the rock if he can stay healthy.

I would've taken Hubert, had I known he was still available. I thought he had been taken, but was pretty incapacitated at the time I made my selection. Oh well. It was between him & Smith for my pick the round before, but for some reason I just completely neglected to see if he was still available or not. I think Williams should be fine though, minus the whole he probably won't get any goal-line touches thing.

Some great values in this round. Fanatic took my qb. I was hoping he would slide just a bit longer. Leroy and I are the last two holdouts. It is so hard to spend an early pick on a qb when I have snagged denard, hundley and other fantasy monster off of waivers. Tyler bray in the fourth didn't work out so well

I haven't figured out where all of this Melvin Gordon noise is coming from. White is the projected starter and was the back I wanted. Good pick, nemesis.

I am pretty happy with two #1 wrs and possibly two #1 rbs lots of talent with big question marks at this point like Williams and Hubert

To quote Merih, we're now firmly in the crapshoot territory. Grab a guy and fix your mistakes on the waiver wire.

My mid-rd picks last year (Bray, Toussaint, Highsmith, DGB). The picks made 8-12 rds later were much better (White, Lawrence, Yeldon, Sims & Stewart). Of course I dumped the last two

Meanwhile Diggs, Austin Hill, Hundley & Abdullah were the less targeted waiver wire options.

Good thing you did because Stewart had an absolute dud of a week when I needed him most. Four grabs for 19 yards....against Texas Tech.... after the 13 catch 172 yard two TD's & one run for 46 yards and TD week against WVU. I was so livid because then he had back-to-back excellent games right after that. That was the story of Eric Ward's season last year, so I was used to being disappointed in my WR's.

Against me in the playoffs, IIRC  :sneaky:
A great two-way player for you last year. For you, or against you, it didn't matter.

Extremely high ceiling, low floor picks coming off the board (Bigelow, Bell, maybe Saunders).

I wanted to draft Saunders next (but doubted he would last, and should have realized Smudger would make it 3 straight picks after me where he selected my next favorite). My concern there is whether OU will keep throwing the ball 550 times with Bell under center.

Bell scored a TD every 7 touches last year, so given the 400+ touches if he remains the starter (250 pass, 150 rush), that should mean 57 tds, right?

Exactly my same sentiments. The potential is sky high for these guys, but they could also have poor seasons and it not be a big surprise. I'm thinking OU is going to be more run-oriented with all of the weapons they have in that aspect & the lack of experience at WR now. At the same time, they've been heavily reliant on the passing game in recent years, so Saunders potential to get plenty of passes was too good to pass up.

Bell's propensity to get goal-line touches is an enormous boost to his value. They might lessen that now with him being the starter, but he's definitely going to get his chances to get in the endzone. He was infuriating last year because I had Landry Jones & whenever they got inside the five, I knew Jones wasn't going to be getting me the points.

Last year was my 4th round WR Da'Rick Rogers getting booted from UT -- now Hyde? I do have the touch.

I officially petition the league for an immediate compensatory pick of whoever I damn well want given how early we start this thing.

If/when the official statement is released, you'll be granted that pick.
