They should have kept the playbook open and really gone for that last first down. I don't think it makes a damn bit of difference whether there's 1:45 or 1:02 left here. Either one is plenty of time in the college game when the other team has an experienced QB. The formula for stopping them on defense in either situation is going to be the same.
