I should have known better than to ask for specifics on TSUN.

I'll preface this by saying, I'm not trying to draw direct comparisons between tOSU and TSUN recruiting. However, I was more interested by Hoke rushing commitments from recruits when many of those recruits he wasn't directly competing against another program. And I mean the "rush into commitments" from TSUN's perspective.Like it or not, they've put together a pretty good haul so far. Of their 14 commits, 12 are 4-stars, with the remaining two (Dukes and Hill) being yet unranked. Fat Boy is doing quite well so far, but the recruiting season has only begun and UFM has a lot of targets on the board...
Is this 12 based on Rivals?MililaniBuckeye;2120917; said:Like it or not, they've put together a pretty good haul so far. You'll rarely see Rivals move one of their early 5-stars down. They are just really entrenched and don't move/shake very much. I imagine Burrows stays a 5-star.Given that Helmholdt is in charge of the Midwest rankings, I will wait until late summer before I even glance at their rankings.
Michigan is doing very well, I just see a lot of inflated rankings from Michigan targets. Taco and McCray are way too high. So is Burrows, honestly.

I think a general rule of thumb for Rivals is to hand out that 4-star 5.8 points evaluation to early commits to big-time programs and leave at that for the rest of time, it lets them be very lazy on the senior year and focus on the uncommitted guys. 4-star 6.0's will bump up to 5-star 6.1's and vice versa; 5.7's will go to 5.8's. But nothing big changes.Seems like there are an awful lot of 4-stars out there in general right now. I find that odd considering that I've seldom if ever seen a player's star ranking reduced as time passes.

MililaniBuckeye;2121235; said:Scout actually has Michigan rated higher than does Rivals on a star average (4.2 vice 4.0), at least for those they've rated:

MililaniBuckeye;2121280; said:True, but on the other hand Scout's ranking may not end up much different the Rivals. Point is, Michigan is putting together a fine class...period. Now, will be it as good as ours come NLOID? I'd like to think it won't...
