Talk on the UF boards that QB Driskell was hurt this morning. Talk of his non-throwing arm being injured, but no update on how serious at this time.

Looks like Brissett will be starting for the Gators come Sept. 1st.

Link to the free Gator board posts below (it's also being talked about on the premium side).

Still nothing concrete on the injury although Pat Dooley (sports writer for the Gainesville Sun) just tweeted, "And so the Jacoby Brissett Era begins".

Update from GatorZone:

UPDATED: 1:15 P.M.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Part of a coach's day often means dealing with the media -- even when there's no media obligations on the schedule.
In between practices Tuesday, Coach Will Muschamp was informed of internet reports saying quarterback Jeff Driskel, the sophomore from Orlando, had suffered an injury to his left, non-throwing shoulder.
Several of the reports speculated the injury was serious.
The UF communications office received calls inquiring about the reports and released a statement in the afternoon saying Muschamp would address any injuries at his next media availability.
"Jeff was at practice today and will be taking reps at practice Wednesday," the statement said.
Driskel is in a preseason competition with sophomore Jacoby Brissett to win the No. 1 quarterback job.

No where else to put this, really, and I didn't want to start a new thread.

As you guys know, Arkansas hired Paul Haynes as DC and Taver Johnson as LB coach at the end of last year.

They have some help this fall. Jim Heacock is hanging out in Arkansas.

http://arkansasnews.com/sections/ra...defensive-coordinator-lends-helping-hand.html

Former Ohio State defensive coordinator Jim Heacock was watching from the sidelines during Thursday?s practice. Arkansas defensive coordinator Paul Haynes ? who worked for Heacock along with Arkansas linebackers coach Taver Johnson at Ohio State ? said it has been nice having him around.

?I really want him around just to sit there and just evaluate personnel,? Haynes said. ?We had a guy at Ohio State - Dave Adolph, a long-time NFL guy and college guy - who kind of did that for us. I?m kind of using him in that way, just from a guy who?s away from it, who?s not a part of the staff just to evaluate guys.?

Heacock worked at Ohio State from 1996-2011 and was defensive coordinator the final seven seasons. His defense led the nation in scoring defense, total defense and passing defense in 2007. He was named the Broyles Award winner the same year.

He was not retained by new Ohio State coach Urban Meyer this offseason and is not on a staff this season. So Heacock was invited to Arkansas to lend a helping hand for Haynes as he prepares for his first season as defensive coordinator.

?The guy is a defensive genius, I believe,? Haynes said. ?The things he has done on defense, being a coordinator. ? He sits in there, sits in our room and watches it with us. We sit there and bounce ideas around.?

Over-zealous UGA fan contacts a recruit about his commitment. Georgia self reported the incident, but NCAA doing it's diligence to make sure he didn't identify himself as a "booster"

Pain in the ass crazy fans...

CHEATERS! Why can't the $EC win WITH HONOR like they do in Happy Vally? It is proven FACT with the EVIDENTS that Georgia is cheating.

Fans are ra-tards sometimes.

New this year, the SEC will allow unlimited replays on video boards inside their stadia.
Video Boards may show replays provided the footage does not bleed into the next play.

http://content.usatoday.com/communi...lows-sec-stadiums-to-show-unlimited-replays/1

Also unique, when a play is challenged, the video boards will show the replay footage from whatever broadcast team is covering the game.
The Vanderbilt/Old Miss replays will be hand drawn by a drunk in the parking lot.
