Pains me to say this, but I think Notre Dame is underrated at #7. Their defense is absolutely sick.

You tell 'em Max!

If our defense gets it shit together there's no doubt we're a top-5 team, at worst. We're 34th in scoring defense...that simply has to get better. Aside from giving up 28 to Cal and 38 to Corny (both at home), we've held our other four opponents to 10, 16, 15, and 16 points respectively. Still, those spikes in giving up points could bite us. Granted, Corny is probably the best offense we'll face the rest of the year aisde from scUM, but I would prefer to not get into shootouts...

I think a good passing team can still exploit the inexperienced secondary. You could see it in that first series where Miami had the long ball open. The Irish either adjusted or Miami changed something because it wasn't there after the first couple series. Still, been very impressed with Assistant Coach Bob Diaco. He didn't come out very strong his first year, but he's been the #1 reason this defense has been vastly improved. That, and some big additions on the D-Line and at LB.

Anyway, pretty cool as an Irish fan in Ohio to see Notre Dame and OSU in the Top 10 today, it's gonna be a good week. Can't wait to see what Urban does in the years to come.

Talking about where the next shirtless fatboy will come from.

Bloomington, Ind. Indiana (11), tied for the seventh-fattest state in America and wearing crimson uniforms, hosts No. 8 Ohio State. It would take a miracle, in part because there might be as many Buckeyes fans in the stands at Memorial Stadium as Hoosiers. The fewer fat boys in the building, the less chance there is of seeing them. Not to mention the long odds on Indiana winning.

Also

Meanwhile, these three guys are the pick magnets, throwing the highest percentage of interceptions:
Denard Robinson (31), Michigan. The regressing pocket passer has thrown eight in 115 attempts, an interception rate of 6.96 percent.
