2012 PGA Tour Discussion

With McIlroy finishing strong yesterday to claim the #1 world ranking and the Masters just around the corner, I'm getting excited for some golf.

Le Tigre looks to be back in form and Phil is no slouch himself.

Tables are set for a great season.

Phil always sets his sights on the Masters and with Tigre and others playing well, it should be an interesting tournament come the back nine on Sunday.

I like seeing that there is some younger talent out there that can grab some headlines like a Rory, DJ, Keegan, and Hunter. If these guys can sustain over the next few years and become solid household names, it will help Golf when Phil and Tiger start winding down.

Speaking of the under-30 crowd, Bill Haas is starting out strong this year. Rickie Fowler also finishing strong at Honda. I look for him to take the next step sooner than later. Webb Simpson is another young guy about to blow up.

This Week: Doral
Defending Champ: Nick Watney

Rory was (-8) after his first 10 holes today. Couldn't sustain it, though. Prime conditions out low. Lots of low scores. Watson up one shot on Rose. When Bubba is playing well, no one is more entertaining to watch.

This has been a great season so far. Rory taking over #1, lots of other young guys playing strong, Phil looking as good as ever, and Tiger is almost back! I absolutely have loved watching Tiger make his comeback. It was painful to watch at first, but he is finally turning a corner. By the time the Master's come along, he might be back! The Master's is going to be amazing this year (even though it is every year).

Keep smiling Phil

Hey Phil fans:lol: I wonder what Jack thinks of that.

Phil Mickelson got tired, got mad and got out. The PGA Tour crowd favorite cited mental fatigue, not his frustration with crowd noise, as the reason for withdrawing from the Memorial Tournament yesterday.

The left-hander shot a 7-over-par 79, his worst round in 11 previous visits to Muirfield Village Golf Club. He blamed the score on an overcooked schedule ? a trip to Europe last week to celebrate his wife?s 40th birthday that came after three consecutive weeks of tournament starts ? rather than noisy distractions that affected him and playing partners Bubba Watson and, to a lesser extent, Rickie Fowler.
