People want to know why NASCAR viewership has dropped dramatically since the 90s need only watch tonight's finish. Team racing killed NASCAR, instead of real good ol' boys like Donnie and Bobby Allison and Cale Yarborough throwing balls to the wind and going all out to win and then fighting afterwards, we have all the carefully handled gentlemen from the mean streets of Charlotte who wouldn't dare pass a teammate or utter a bad word for fear of losing valuable sponsorship dollars. I still watch Daytona and I still like Terry Labonte and Mark Martin, but this sport officially sucks now. Wholistically.

Slowing the cars down didn't help.

Same thing with open wheel. I know.. safety... whatever.. the whole point to autoracing is to see who's the craziest motherfucker on the track. Get rid of the restrictor plates and get back to balls out racing

One of my favorite NASCAR moments was a 20 car pile-up (Tallageda, if I recall correctly). Dale Sr. wrecked... was getting into the ambulance when he noticed the car was still running. So, he got back in the fuckin thing and off he went.

That's racing. :)

PS Darrell waltrip. Diesel will not explode. Gas yes. diesel no. Getting annoyed with people thinking they know about fire and fuel and burning. when i know facts.

The diesel in my car explodes all the time. Mind you, that's from compression and heat, not spark. But it does explode.
