The resounding chants of "USA" when I knew there were a heck of a lot of Germans and other Euros in the crowd and they had to be joining in for that to be as loud as it was really made me laugh. I told my mom that if they're getting behind us, then we are truly getting the shaft. :lol: I loved how they let Marta have it whenever she touched the ball, and then with the fake diver, when she ran back to the sidelines to come back in after the stretcher was out of bounds. Priceless.

A lot of the crowd turned on Brazil towards the end of the game. Brazil went really bush league with flops and the educated German crowd new exactly what they were doing. Good on them.


what a freaking awesome game. Solo's save on the PK's was excellent as well. As a former keeper, I know how hard it is to stop a PK. It's all a matter of guessing the right direction.

Watching the replay now - Megan Rapinoe just about kept step for step with a really fast Marta on a fast break and really limited Marta's choices as Hope came out to meet her. Rapinoe is faster than I thought, and had she not been sticking close to Marta's right side after that sprint, I think Hope would have been in a [Mark May] load of trouble.

I'm rather shocked reporter(s) haven't gone to TSUN to interview Greg Ryan on anything, if he's granting interviews (he probably isn't).

Maybe tomorrow.

Maybe ask if he thinks Pia Sundhage should bench Hope Solo for the semifinals against France (you know, for the match-up).

A quick note regarding the discussion on the "controversial" no-call on the offsides that took place prior to Brazil's second goal: Moments before, on the other end, there was a TOTAL bullshit OS called on the US. Basically the same situation, yet when the replay was shown, it was clear that the US was not off. Fast forward a minute or so, and there's Marta receiving a pass from a player a full step behind the defense.

Look, calls are missed all the time. But, not in that situation. Unacceptable.

The Aussie ref was pissed because her country had just been humiliated by the Swedes. She should never officiate again.

Also, watch the red: Buehler slides in UNDER Marta, who had already left her feet. B didn't grab, push, pull, or trip. Marta launched and got a terrible call.

I'm actually watching a replay of a Women's World Cup game that isn't the final and I already knew the outcome.

Never thought I'd say that.

And by the way, fuck Brazil and fuck the officiating. When that cunt got taken out on that stretcher and bounced right up as soon as they got her to the sideline I was almost willing to go to jail for beating a woman.
