2011 Under Armour All-America Game - Jan. 5th - 7PM - ESPN

Steve Miller had the first sack of the game.

Doran Grant Played solid coverage and batted a ball down.

Braxton threw some good balls and showed off his nifty moves but his line stunk and was constantly under pressure.

Ryan Shazier had a few tackles and ironically most of them were on Braxton.

Ok so how did Braxton do? and what about the other buckeyes?
The most important stat is four for four, all of the Buckeyes went into the game with all four limbs and appendiges in great working order and came out of the game in the same way. No injuries, honestly, when Braxton went in I was hoping for great things, then I saw Clowney on one side and Chickillo (sp) on the other for the defense, and saw them running free in the back field, and changed my mind, just wanted to see Braxton safe and sound this spring.

Braxton threw some nice balls, one pass across the middle hit his receiver in stride, in the hands, in a window in the zone and was dropped, a decent hit by the safety helped, I guess  His biggest problem was Keyshaun Johnson calling the plays :smash: as well as not being able to get into a rythm with all the other QBs getting their shots.

Shazier looked good, got juked out of his shoes on one play, though it was a Barry Sandersish move :yow1:

Miller looked like he fit in out there, and Grant did not get much attention, a good thing out of a CB

Like I said, the practices were better for picking up things, and surviving the game intact was the most important thing last night.

ST. PETERSBERG, Fla. -- Taylor Bertolet was the smallest guy on the field at Wednesday's Under Armour All-America Game at Tropicana Field. But in the end, he made the game's biggest play.

With no time left on the clock, Bertolet, the nation's No. 2 kicker from Reading (Pa.) Exeter Township, nailed a game-winning field goal from 24-yards out, giving the Red team a 24-22 victory.

The kick came with plenty of drama, though.

With 3 seconds left on the clock, Bertolet's first attempt to win the game was blocked from 28 yards out, sparking a massive celebration by the White squad. Players rushed the field and buckets of ice were poured on coaches' heads, but in the back of the end zone was a flag.

The referees called the White team for illegal procedure, giving Bertolet, a Texas A&M pledge, another opportunity.

He didn't miss.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- It was a happy homecoming for Tampa (Fla.) Alonso DE Anthony Chickillo.

Playing his final high school football game just 30 minutes from his house, the 6-foot-3, 240-pounder finished with 1? sacks and a fumble recovery and earned MVP honors from the Red team.

"I'm not going to forget this experience for the rest of my life," Chickillo said. "I've always been working for this. The days with my dad and he just wants me to strive to be the best."

Playing on the same defensive line as the nation's top-rated player Jadeveon Clowney (Rock Hill, S.C./South Pointe) meant Chickillo had to work extra hard to stand out.

Eight All-Americans commit at UA Game - ESPN

Buckeyes land Grant

Despite a heavy courtship from Michigan State, four-star defensive back Doran Grant (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent & Mary's) will follow his heart and head to Ohio State.

"The coaching staff is strong, from Coach [Jim] Tressel to the position coaches," Grant said. "It's a place where a lot of good defensive backs have went in the past."

Grant had family ties to Michigan State, where his father is an alumnus, but the 5-foot-11, 177-pounder went another direction.

"This was the place that I felt most comfortable at," Grant said. "My family is excited for me and always encouraged me to make my own decision."

Grant, the No. 66-rated player in the country, is the Buckeyes' 20th commitment overall and sixth in the ESPNU 150. A superb coverage cornerback, Grant wasn't tested often as a senior but grabbed two interceptions and six pass breakups.
