2011 TSUN shenanigans and arguments (off season)

There is apparently a new book written by a John, that is called Three and out. This is about hot rod's three years as the HC at scUM. It has been banned from the local scUM library because their AD doesn't like it. It's coming out soon. It supposedly bashes LC. Fyi.

A Sleeping Giant Has Awakened

I believe with all of the crap that MSU has spewed this week that this may really backfire in their face. I see even Mattison is [censored]ed and has passed on his feelign to his defensive coaches and group.

The Japanese made the mistake in WWII and paid for their error. Moo UU has made the same error and will pay dearly. We won 6 straight games from 2001 through 2007. Next year will begin the next string of wins.
 and yes, he joined while Navarre was starting and still couldn't spell his name right

Fri AM TJBlog: What it looks like when it works

they like what they're doing, it just has to progress -- and certain guys have to get healthier.

Meaning:

The power running game. We really only saw it once so far, against Minnesota when Fitz Toussaint ran for 108 yards. It's been set back by injuries --both to Fitz and to the left side of the O-line. That left side was/is to be the 'power run side' with Lewan-Barnum-Molk, and we saw that vs the Goofers -- Fitz's downhill runs were mainly off that side. However, since then, not only has Barnum been out, but Lewan has been walking-wounded -- ankle-foot, elbow head. He's been in a boot this week, and the time off should be what the doc ordered there. Same for Barnum
riiiiiight. it was health that allowed um to do that. surely the horrific gopher team wasn't the actual catalyst
This offense is complicated, and places most of the stress on both QB's Denard and Devin. But the U-M braintrust thinks they have two special players there who can learn to handle it. Remember, Florida won a NC in 2006 with a two-headed QB ... if you can make it work it's just too-weird for defenses. And, but, however --if you ask me this U-M O is more complicated than the '06 Florida setup, especially for Denard. So Borges has decided he has two very special NFL-caliber guys ... but it takes getting used to. I think 2012 is being set up as a special year ... altho if the D-n-D-bros learn fast (and the OL is healthy enuff), 2011 can still be pretty special too (I'm thinking: OSU victory).
his own subscribers called him on the NFL laugher

isn't it amazing how the team is always overwhelmed by unavoidable circumstances that will be gone next year, yet next year the same tired schtick is back
I imagine tom doesn't want anyone mentioning that many of the plays are identical to RR's and represent the third year of that system

the responses :
If Borges thinks he has 2 NFL QBs, then, well, I guess we'll agree to disagree. DRob is a fantastic college QB but I just don't think there is ANY way he plays QB at the next level. That said, there is nobody else I want running our O.
?
I did not say "2 NFL QBs" ... I said "2 very special NFL-caliber guys" ... however, don't sell Denard short, he's learning a very tricky new system

the funniest thing is 'experts' who have decided Denard doesn't have a great arm -- false.
you'd think someone who called mallett, while in high school, a sure fire first overall pick three years after signing day , would understand what constitutes a great arm. but this is a man who only knows cliches and only reporting the part that matches his rhetoric.

Posted: Today 3:28 PM Refs blow 2nd AND 4th down

bizarre, like the old days
then the assault on the English language resumes, with an epiphany from one of his readers
but Tom...

Im not a coach, but hasnt Denard always looked good when down by more than a TD and D is giving him completions, thats where majority of any numbers he has put up against good teams(ND not good) have come in the last two years...
TomBeaver wrote: ... but, to me, Denard is a weapon in the gun ... and in the dropback he looks uncomfortable, doesn't know when to scramble (so he never did, not once)

My IMO

Once they got behind and got in the gun in the 4th quarter, they looked better to me.

I'm not against running power and letting Toussaint carry it ... but wonder why they don't get in the gun more as well, where Denard looks more comfortable

Do both ... my IMO
Postgame bloggie: Here's the other thing ... remember

I rated this as the hardest remaining game to win ... with OSU the easiest, then at-Illinois, then Nebraska, and with at-Iowa the hardest.

So ... not surprised they lost or that Iowa played it's best D-game of the year.

(Just didn't like to see the refs blow 2 calls in the last 4 ... not that they'da gotten the 2-point conversion, who knows ... or not that had they'd gotten the 4th down interference call right would U-M even scored ... just don't like seeing 2 blown calls outta 4... that's a killer.)

yeah beating a victim of Minnesota and Iowa state is definitely harder than beating your arch rival.
