I know this is extremely optimistic but if we win out and Wisconsin beats Penn State the Buckeyes will take the division and play in the Big Ten championship game.

Sparty gave us a chance. Now it is up to our Buckeyes. :osu:

I think the divisional tiebreaker is overall record, not head to head?

The following procedure will determine the representative from each division in the event of a tie:

If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative
If three or more teams are tied, steps 1 through 7 will be followed until a determination is made. If only two teams remain tied after any step, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.
The records of the three tied teams will be compared against each other
The records of the three tied teams will be compared within their division
The records of the three teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of finish (4, 5, and 6)
The records of the three teams will be compared against all common conference opponents;
The highest ranked team in the first Bowl Championship Series Poll following the completion of Big Ten regular season conference play shall be the representative in the Big Ten Championship Game, unless the two highest ranked tied teams are ranked within one spot of each other in the BCS poll. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the Big Ten Championship
The team with the best overall winning percentage [excluding exempted games] shall be the representative
The representative will be chosen by random draw.

When you have a QB who can make plays with his feet, it puts tremendous stress on any defense! That's something Sparty doesn't have.
We do!
And when are coaches going to realize that a 3 man rush isn't effective and leads to completed Hail Marys at the end of games? (not that I'm complaining about last nights result) :tongue2:

What did cause some stress on Wisky were vertical routes up the middle, esp. some back breaking ones by TEs.

There were a lot of open receivers too.

I like the idea of spreading out our offense to open running lanes up for Braxton, or if he can have the vision to find the open man, which will be out there, then hopefully he can pass. To me this seems like the eventual identity of this team, to mix this with a dose of I-formation run plays, with the option to check out to passes to the TE or play action vertical routes downfield.

Wisconsin is probably preparing for a smashmouth, run it run it run it play calling. But I don't know if that is actually what we go with. I expect us to start in I-formation, attempt to just line up and run at them. If that works, we won't go away from it much, but if it doesn't work, I hope that the play calling adapts quickly.

We are a "smash mouth, run' run' run" team! Very similiar to TP's freshman year!
That is our identity.

2008. In wins over Michigan State, Northwestern, Illinois and Michigan that season, Ohio State scored an average of 41 points. The typical offense in those four wins? It was 48 carries for 249 yards on the ground, and Pryor going 7-for-12 for 121 yards through the air.
So far through seven games this season, here's Ohio State's typical offensive game: 43 carries for 175 yards; 9 for 20 for 128 yards.

I'm sure some folks thought this sounded kind of crazy a week ago, but how about now?

I'm just happy to see the progress this young team has made. That tOSU is playing meaningful games in November this year, after how things started, feels like a bonus. I think if the Buckeyes play with the fire and execution we saw last night, they will handily win out.

GO BUCKEYES

It's crazy that we might be in the driver's seat to get to the B1G Championship game. PSU plays us, Wisky, and Nebraska finishing out the year, while we have Indiana, Purdon't, PSU, and scUM. Love those odds. Seriously makes me laugh that through the WORST of times, we're still arguably the best in the conference. Line us up against anyone in the conference right now and I think we'll beat them. Honest to God.

Indiana is giving up 234.66 yards per game on the ground.

Purdue is giving up 169.5 yards per game on the ground.

Penn State is giving up 111.8 yards per game on the ground.

Michigan is giving up 138.25 yards per game on the ground.

That is why I am feeling good about the rest of this season. I think we can eclipse 200 yards on the ground in the remaining games, and if we do, I think we can easily go 4-0.

If we somehow manage to figure out how to consistently pass the ball then even better.
