2011 Secondary, or DBs, Discussion

I'll disagree with you on Barnett, Josh. He made no "big hits" that I saw, but looked to me to be nearly flawless in coverage. Had a couple of PBUs, I believe.

That's true, he did have some great plays 1 v 1, I'm just used to him to being more of a disruption. Some of that was scheme, some of that was opposing execution, some of that was his play.

Perhaps it would be more fair to say he wasn't up to his usual standards today, rather than 'tough'.

Every week I become more and more impressed with our DBs. Great job guys!

I thought the dbs were solid today. The dline was good but inconsistent. LB play not what it could have been with all those stupid screens and bubbles mebbe.

Just gonna single out Taver Johnson here... mad props to the man.

No matter who we put out there at corner over the years, they always play great football. Starts with good coaching there.

The secondary is playing better than any other unit on the team. I love the fact we are basically playing corners at the safety position, it makes the secondary faster. Coach Taver Johnson has done a great job. Roby, Barnett, Bryant, Howard and Clarke have been lights out. Bringing Bryant into the starting line up over Johnson really seems to have helped as well. Loved how Barnett and Bryant love to come up and lay the wood.

The scary part is, this secondary will be playing for two more years together, sans Howard who is a RS Junior.

Bryant looked better and I'm sure last week had a bunch of coaching points for all to learn from. We have 2 physical safeties, now for the first time in years!

You don't want to be a WR going over the middle once these guys get their scheme together.

Bryant was laying the wood yesterday as was Barnett.

I love it when DB's want to hit, and this team is loaded with them. Pretty damn fun to watch.
