2011 Rugby World Cup (Sept 9 - Oct 23) in New Zealand

I think the quarters, semis, and final will all be on Universal and/or NBC. Universal has be re-playing it's matches several times, as well.

Teams/matches left: Wales/Ireland, England/France, South Africa/Australia, and (I guess, because no one else is left, but am not sure about this one) NZ/Argentina.

The top seeds all moved on, but several got all they could handle from the lower-tier sides. There may be some upsets in the next RWC.

Using the USA Eastern time zone:

Sat, Oct 8th, 1:00 am: Ireland-Wales

Sat, Oct 8th, 3:30 am: England-France

Those winners will advance to one semi-final.

Sun, Oct 9th, 1:00 am: South Africa-Australia

Sun, Oct 9th, 3:30 am: New Zealand-Argentina

Those winners will meet in the other semi-final.

It's just a coincidence that the draw split into Northern and Southern Hemisphere teams. I'll take the Southern Hemisphere team in the final.

I'm guessing that it will be Ireland/New Zealand in the final. NZ lost their Tom Brady this week, though (Dan Carter) and it will be interesting to see how the replacement does this week. If he's not better than serviceable, South Africa will get by them next week.

South Africa is peaking. The game against Samoa was one of the most poorly refereed games I have ever seen, in terms of the off-ball cheapshots. The South Africans were livid.

Springboks over Australia and New Zealand, then we see!

If they make it through to the final, they're in good shape barring significant injuries in the next two games. As much of an Ireland fan as I am, I don't give them much chance against the Boks or ABs.

So, I was completely wrong about the Northern side of the bracket. I guess that means it will be Argentina v. Australia in the other semi-final. By that logic, it could be France v. Argentina in the final. :sleep1::sleep1:

I couldn't find it on Universals lineup or NBCs. I don't have regular universal...only UNIHD, and that''s showing WWE shit right now. maybe BB73 can set me straight, but the only coverage that I've seen on AT&T UVerse in pay-per-view.

I guess that's right. I couldn't find it either, but I know that at the beginning of the tournament I saw a graphic that said they'd be showing all of the USA matches, Canada v. NZ, and the knock-out rounds. Maybe it's just the semis and final or maybe they just packed it in after USA lost out (that couldn't have been a surprise, though).

I also continue to be wrong in the quarters as Ozzie snuck by South Africa 11-9.

This could be great, though. It would be phenomenal to see the French bounce NZ out in the final in NZ. The entire country would have a psychological breakdown.

NZ lost their 2nd team flyhalf to injury against Argentina. I think, although my endorsement seems to be the kiss of death, that it will be Wales v. Australia in the final match. That would at least be entertaining, expansive rugby.

I think Aaron Cruden played well in the win over the Wallabies and if the first match against the French means anything, I think the All Blacks will get it done next week. I like Wales in the 3rd place game. I just think the Aussies will be a little bit disappointed to be there.

Agree completely. I think the schizo French will bring it, but NZ will just be too much for them. It could also turn out to be a revenge ass-kicking like Wales put on Fiji, though, with the All Blacks looking to post 100 on them. Not sure that a score like that would be good for the sport.

Wales is pissed off and will take it out on a complacent Oz side in the 3rd place match.
