2011 NFL Draft (Mocks, Eval, etc)

Ravens get a freak of nature at corner to help make their defense even stronger.

Steelers get a Buckeye to make their defensive line even more versatile and tougher.

And the Browns trade way down and then up and grab a guy with character issues, weight issues, and injury issues.

If Holmgren and Heckert were retarded, I'd understand your guys' frustration. They aren't.

Well the trade pretty much indicated they aren't planning on contending until 2012 at the earliest...but I still don't get the huge fucker on a DL that he won't really fit in. We need all kinds of help along the line, so taking a guy that will play on about 35% of the snaps to start it out? That I really don't get. At all.

We ran a 3-4 for years with no true nose tackle. We even passed up Ngata for Wimbley.

We did not spend a high draft pick on a nose tackle for years. We drafted Babatunde Oshinawa from Stanford in the fifth, but that was it.

So to switch to a 4-3, and then spend a first round pick on a nose tackle...

Unbelievable.

Look I love Cam as much as anyone, but I don't know that he;s going to be some dominant force on the DL...hell Pittsburgh doesn't really even look for those. They want strong, quality guys who do their jobs to free up the freakish LBs...that I'm sure he can do. He'll fit in there very well, but I don't know that he would have been a real impact backbone guy for the Browns either. And the Ratbird is an off field headache waiting to happen too.

I don't get how a massive load at DT won't fit in, just because it isn't a 3-4 doesn't mean a huge space-eater won't be useful. I think he'll end up being fine. Holmgren and Heckert are smart guys and have done good things in the past with drafts, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

They weren't going to contend next year anyways.

Not the same people, can't hold that against them.
