2011 NFL Draft (Mocks, Eval, etc)

No doubt. I thought the pending NFL lockout would have players shying away from moving on.

The draft this year is under the old agreement, so some of these players are coming out hoping to avoid a rookie salary cap that will most likely be part of the new greement is what my understanding is.

I think there will be a short lockout. Which will make some of the off season schedules a littel tighter, but will end quickly as there is a hige public backlash and both side relize quickly they code lose billions of dollars with a true season affecting lock out

Virginia Tech running back Ryan Williams has finally decided to join this year's NFL Draft. After his teammate Darren Evans declared, there was much speculation that Williams would follow.
Williams is rated as one of the top backs in the draft and should go in the first couple rounds. With Evans and Williams gone, David Wilson just became the feature back for the Hokies next season.

In what is not much of a surprise, Georgia wide receiver A.J. Green has decided to forgo his senior year and declare for the NFL Draft. Green is arguably the best receiver in the country and is widely considered a top 10 pick in the upcoming draft.
Green will be missed as any All-American would be, but there is plenty of talent in the wings for the Bulldogs.

In a bit of a surprise, Clemson running back Jamie Harper will forgo his senior season and enter the 2011 NFL Draft.
With Harper and quarterback Kyle Parker moving on , the offensive focus will be on running back Andre Ellington in 2011.

this is not true. the current CBA expires March 3, meaning players are getting drafted under no CBA. Whatever the terms of the new CBA are, will apply to those draftees as teams will not be able to actually sign them until the new CBA is signed.

Oregon State RB Jacquizz Rodgers will forgo his senior season as a Beaver and enter the 2011 NFL draft.
A 5'7/191-pound sparkplug, Rodgers racked up 1,184 yards on 256 carries as a junior, good for a 4.63 YPC average. He also caught 151 passes in his career. Rodgers' production dropped across the board from 2009 to 2010, however, and he projects as a Darren Sproles-type third-down back in the pros. We can't imagine the diminutive runner going before the fourth round.

Illinois RB Mikel Leshoure announced Tuesday that he will forgo his senior year and enter the 2011 NFL draft.
A 20-year-old true junior, Leshoure set the Fighting Illini's single-season rushing record with 1,697 yards in 2010 and scored 20 all-purpose TDs. The 230-pound power back averaged 6.25 yards per carry in his final two seasons, including a whopping 8.05 in his last four college games combined. Leshoure is the early favorite to be the second tailback drafted in April, behind Mark Ingram. There is even some growing sentiment for Leshoure to go before Ingram.

LSU RB Stevan Ridley announced Thursday that he will forgo his senior season and enter the NFL draft.
Ridley only started one year for the Tigers, but probably should've been ahead of Keiland Williams and Charles Scott all along. A power back at 6'0/223, the tackle breaker ranked fourth in the SEC in 2010 rushing with 1,147 yards and 15 TDs, earning first-team all-conference accolades from the coaches and averaging 4.61 YPC in an LSU offense that posed little threat of a downfield passing attack. Ridley caught just 17 passes in his college career, however, so he'll have work to do to earn immediate playing time at the next level.

Just something to think about. I think Mallett is a great QB but I also thought Brohm would be one as well. Many believe that Brohm would have been the #1 pick if he came out after his junior year. He chose to stay at school and Petrino left for the Falcons. Brohm's senior year was miserable (yes i know they lost a lot of talent at wr). So far in the pros Brohm has done nothing.

I doubt it's anything and I dont mean to compare the "skills" of Mallett to Brohm but I think it's something to think about and watch for when Mallett comes out.

Auburn DT Nick Fairly is expected to announce Friday that he's skipping his senior season to enter the 2011 NFL Draft.
Fairley is fresh of a defensive MVP performance in the BCS National Championship Game with a sack, three tackles for a loss, and a forced fumble. Playing his best in big games throughout the season, Fairley led the SEC with 24 tackles for a loss and had a school-record 11.5 sacks. Though he'll face questions about his maturity level and penchant for dirty play, Fairley will also draw strong consideration from the Panthers at No. 1 overall. At 6'5/298, he's a dominant physical talent.
