2011 Men's Basketball Conf. Tournaments

Sorry, but the 10th place BE team ending its season this way does not warrant a bid to the dance IMO.

7 losses in their last 9 with the wins being a 3 point win over Seton Hall and a 2 point overtime win over DePaul

only in the Big East media jerkoff could a team with this resume squirm into the dance

Collapse complete. USF wins.

Nova should be NIT bound after this finale. The notion of any conference getting 11 bids is absurd, and no team going 2-7 down the stretch, 0-5 their last five games, and losing to a team with 9 wins all season going into the conference tourney in the first round should be it.

And yet, the clowns on ESPN are STILL telling us how Villanova should be in the big tournament as I type. Gimme a break. :roll2:

St. Peter's, Wofford, Little Rock...teams losing twice in the season winning the third match up in the conference final. Trend?

Butler, who lost twice to Milwaukee during the season, is up 21-6 early on UWM's home floor in the Horizon final.

Yet again, the third time looks to be the charm as Butler is up 18 at Milwaukee with less than 3 minutes to play. The Bulldogs appear headed back to the NCAAs.

Milwaukee played them tough for the first thirty minutes then completely crapped out. I think Butler was going to the tourney win or lose, but this result likely sends Milwaukee to the NIT and opens up a spot for a bubble team.

The Mediots will make excuses, but the Big East is 6 good teams, 2 teams that would be on the bubble in any other conference and 3 teams that are getting in on conference reputation alone.

less than 5 (and probably fewer) of the Big East teams that will get in will survive the 1st weekend.

UConn def. Georgetown 79-62 in a painfully boring blowout. UConn will face top-seeded Pitt tomorrow.

Rutgers-St. John's tips off next - I'm looking forward to watching the Johnnies - I haven't had a chance to see them this year.

They can be fun to watch thats for sure. I like Lavin as a coach and St. Johns (imo) has a big 10 type feel to their game.
