2011 Defensive Line Discussion

We stili have some talent coming back but, I hope Tressel/staff puts one of the big freshmen OL/DL recruits on the DL. Like a second coming of Hankins, could be Carter, Brown or maybe, Walker. Hankins was a huge plus for us, and Larimore is gone so we need another BIGGER DT over 300,,,,

The most likely would be Underwood, IMO. Seems to move the best.

I'd love to see you pull a quote of someone who actually said that.

he was recruited as a corner. Played QB and C . Name one recruiting site or news report that knew he was going to play WR at OSU. No one had a clue about him playing WR until he got on campus and dominated :)

Here are posts #8 and #9 in Ginn's thread right here on BuckeyePlanet:

Maybe he'll play both ways? Sure seems talented enough.

I would not be surprised at all to see Teddy contribute on offense, defense, and special teams during his time in Columbus. He's a special, special talent.

Both were written in January of 2004.

I remember reading reports about him playing defense and opposing coaches talked him up a lot but, I was talking about more beef like another Hankins size player. He might be great for another Simon type.

Simon, Williams, Hankins, and Goebel or Bellamy would make a solid starting four, with depth being provided by the others being mentioned here. But I expect we'll see some growing pains.

Overall I do not think our defense is likely to be as strong next year as the 2010 edition.

I think the backers will be more athletic and the secondary will be better than most believe. With Moeller and Barnett returning that will be a big boost.
And I think the young pups proved their worth in the sugar bowl when needed. Of course that was helped out by our front 7 but in my opinion played as well as anybody could have asked. Add to the fact that Corey Brown will be back and can play either safety or corner and Doran Grant could see a good bit of playing time. I really believe that Sabino and Bell are going to be monsters and Sweat will be the leader of the group. These guys are juniors and seniors and are experienced, even if they haven't had much game time. They've learned under some great leaders the past couple years and I believe they will be ready for the challenge.

This in turn should help out a young d-line.
