The George
Wisconsin's Montee Ball, a Heisman Trophy finalist, has been named as the winner of the seventh annual George Award for the nation's best collegiate running back. Ball's 38 TDs are the second-highest total ever for any FBS player, behind Barry Sanders' total of 44 (39 officially, plus 5 in his bowl game). The top three vote-getters were named on all ballots except one.
