Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com Ranking - Rivals150 for the class of 2011

#34 Shannon Scott

dont have time to fill out the other prospects while im at work sorry
You lazy working stiff you:biggrin2: I have done the remainder of the list but just included players that I thought we might have a chance at for 2011. I have left off the to the kids from Milton because I still believe my "source" and I have added a few names where I have seen an Ohio State association. It is highly possible that I had missed some guys are also included guys with minimal interest in our beloved Buckeyes:)

#6 Rakeem Christmas (Rivals #9)
#9 Anthony Davis (Rivals #7)
#12 Adonis Thomas (Rivals #11)
#17 Branden Dawson (Rivals #30)
#23 Cody Zeller (Rivals #46)
#31 Amir Williams (Rivals #39
#34 Nick Johnson (Rivals #41
#35 Shannon Scott (OSU Verbal)
#37 Chasson Randle (Rivals #38)
#44 Sam Thompson (Rivals #33)
#60 Jakaar Sampson (Rivals #68)
Quincy Miller (Rivals #8)
Desmond Hubert (Rivals #60)

Here is a link to the Rivals 150 (updated July 1) for what it is worth and the recruits and rankings that I think we have a shot at. Anthony Davis is not ranked and thus the reason he is not mentioned below. In looking at the rankings, hopefully we can get a surprise that we do not have listed on our board.

#8 Anthony Davis
#30 Sam Thompson
#35 Cody Zeller
#43 Amir Williams
#55 Shannon Scott
#145 Malcolm Gilbert

And then you have this from Scout regarding Davis. Rankings:shake:

Our strongest gain was made by Anthony Davis. He entered June as a Top 10 prospect but after being named the most promising prospect at the NBA Camp combined with the fact that he’s the definition of a late bloomer, we’ve rolled the dice and moved him

Scout.com: July: The Month For Grinders

Posted Jul 6, 2010

Scout.com hits the road July 7 for wall to wall coverage from major camps, tournaments and every hole in the wall gym we can find. Join us for the ride!

Continued...

The Hottest Rising Seniors

Dave Telep: Anthony Davis, a power forward out of Chicago not only wasn't on our radar last year, he was a 6-3 guard not 6-10 hybrid forward. His spring blow up and subsequent breakout at the NBA Camp vaulted into the Scout.com Top 5. Alongside NBA Camp MVP Chane Behanan, he enters the homestretch with the most eyes on his every move.

Evan Daniels: This category is a lay up. Two guys - Chane Behanan and Anthony Davis - showed out this spring. Behahan's out of this world performance at NBA Camp was not only exciting but also unexpected. He may be undersized (6-foot-7, 255-pounds) for the four-spot, but he's a pit bull that never stops barking. He has strength not only in his arms and shoulders, but also in his legs that causes problems for the opposition.

As a player, Behanan and Davis are complete opposites. But Davis' impact was has been felt just as much. His semi-finals performance at NBA Camp was among the top performance I've seen since entering this business. He has the length to be a major force blocking shots, but he also has the hands, touch and ability to face up. He may be a late bloomer, but don't sleep on him. He's among the best talents in the entire country.

Chris Paul Makes It Look Easy But These Guys Try

Dave Telep: The purest natural point guard in the senior class going into the summer is Myck Kabongo. He's the guy with the best combination of winning, leadership and game. Marquis Teague may be faster, Quinn Cook can score it and Shannon Scott drops dimes. Kabongo borrows a page from them all.

#1 class in the Big 10:) Indiana not in the top 20 and I thought they were getting all of these recruits. I guess they must be coming next year or in 2013. It will be interesting to see how far we jump if we get a commitment from another big man.

Free Scout - Signing Day: Top 25 Rankings

Buckeyes check in at #13...

Evan Daniels' Class Notes:
Ohio State class: OSU locked up Scott early and then surrounded him with a pair of talented and versatile wings and a rising big man in McDonald. Thompson and Ross will bring scoring to the wing spot right away.

Free Scout - Signing Day Superlatives

Best Passer: Shannon Scott – There is no point guard in the class with a better IQ and feel for the game than Scott. While he isn't as aggressive scoring as he could be, and probably should be, Scott is always getting teammates involved. He knows how to make the right pass at the right time, and while not flashy is always effective. His assist-to-turnover ratio in college will be through the roof.

Follow the action here with Evan Daniels' and Brian Snow's Signing Day Blog...

8:50: Amir Williams plans on announcing his commitment on November 17. He will visit Ohio State officially this weekend, and then think things over. DePaul, Florida, Michigan, Purdue, and Ohio State are all still involved. Information is all over the map, but Florida, Michigan, and Ohio State seem to be the constants with this one. (BS)
