2010 Winter Olympics tidbits

Dale Begg-Smith might be the least likable athlete in these olympics.

NBC just profiled him. A native of Vancouver, he bolted to Australia when the Canadian team had the temerity to ask that he show up to practice. He founded a dot-com that specializes in spam, malware, spyware & adware.

He competes in moguls, and I hope he bites it on one of these jumps.

The French guy just put down a huge, FAST run. The Canadians might get denied by the last run AGAIN...

Nope. The French guy got 6th. Bryon Wilson hangs on for a bronze, and the Canadians finally get their home gold medal. Maybe NBC can STFU about it now.

maybe they can also show the events LIVE, I found out about the Canadian winning about 10 or 15 minutes before he did

I agree with that. NBC has a ton of cable networks. They could put the moguls competition on live and show every competitor in the place of To Catch a Predator or whatever garbage they have on Bravo.

I really don't give a shit about hockey - but I love watching Olympic hockey. This is a shortsighted move in their part. Sure you can get some chicks to actually watch your network one night if you show ice dancing, but NBC presumably has some NHL hockey to show long after these Olympics are over. If they actually promote Olympic hockey, people like me might become interested enough to watch when this is over.

The NHL should be outraged.

Put ice dancing on Bravo. It's a joke and a sham. I love the Winter Olympics. I'm going out of my way today to watch cross-country skiing. The figure skating is the one thing I won't watch and can't stand.

Pardon me for asking - but where are you getting an evening lineup for events and what will be televised? I'd like to check the evening listings - but the NBC website is damn convaluted and tough to get a decent schedule.

Thanks guys.
